Actually it's best if she fasts for at least a day to give her intestinal tract time to settle down. You can get some baby food from the market - all meat, chicken or turkey, and must have NO ONION or garlic powder so be sure to check the label for that. You can try some of that for her tomorrow.

Slippery elm is a great herb and soothing to the cat's intestinal tract. From your description of your location I would not imagine there would be a health foods store convenient for you. Canned pumpkin, squash etc. is also great for diarrhea (or constipation too). The problem will be getting her to eat it. The pumpkin should be straight vegetable and not the pumpkin pie mix with sugar and spices.

So if she does not eat and the diarrhea does not stop I hope she will see the vet on Monday to find out what is going on.
You can also syringe some filtered water down her or even use an eye dropper. That will take forever to get in her and probably upset her too. It's always worth a try though.

Don't give pepto bismol to cats without a vet ok--it contains aspirin and can be harmful to the cat. She could get dehyrated from all that diarrhea, so you have to be careful. Not much you can do at home, I'd still try to find a way to the emergency hospital if she is that sick.

could it be something your pets are eating such as a poisonous plant you have indoors or outdoors? Are your pets licking the cleanser from your bathtub which could make them sick and eventually kill them? Are you giving your pet milk which gives them diarrhea? Are you aware of the pet scare a few months ago that gave kidney failure to cats and dogs, could that product (there were many listed) have made your pet ill? Or could it be merely fur balls (is there a fur ball in what she brings up?). I'm sure you're confused about so many different and opposite information being given to you. I suggest you take all the answers and ask your vet about each and every one of them for verification.

I don't suppose you have the herb slippery elm handy? Or any probiotics? Didn't the vet suggest anything you can do in the meantime? You could try to get her to eat a bit of pumpkin (canned plain, not the pumpkin pie filling) if she will, maybe if you mix it with a bit of tuna juice she'll eat it. Otherwise, if you can keep her hydrated, she will probably be okay til Monday.

My vet told me a really good tip for regulating the bowel movements. PUMPKIN will help solidify diarrhea AND will also loosen constipation. (Works for people, too, BTW) If they don't like the pumpkin, try sweet potato.

Still, take Kitty to the vet when you can -- if she has the runs, you want to clear up the underlying cause. Good luck!!

the water drinking is a MUST and if you have or can get some kaopectate depending on her weight you can give her 1/2 to a teaspoon ....nothing else BUT kaopectate is safe to give her not pepto bismol or ANYTHING else...good luck

did the vet suggest using anything - petpo for instance? give her yogurt, cottage cheese or activitia but you need to find the cause. were you feeding friskies? have you changed foods? feeding food with red pieces in it?
