No you don't want to do that. Doggie "diapers" are generally used for dogs that are senile and can no longer hold their bladder or bowels.

You want to immediately start potty training. You must realize that the puppy WILL have accidents, but you NEVER want to rub it's nose in the mess. It doesn't teach the dog anything except to be afraid of you, and I hope you don't wan that.

No, it will be very stressful for your dog to have to mess on itself in a diaper. It is not natural at all. Rather, small dogs can be trained to use a doggie litter box--a box lined with pee pads or newspapers. Just place the pup in there frequently, say "go potty" and praise when it does. Don't let it loose to run around the house until it is 100% trained. Use a crate to help. Using diapers will only teach the dog to pee and poop anywhere anytime and it will be impossible to break him of it a year later. BAAAAD idea!

Using diapers once in a while is alright in my opinion. My friend uses one on his dog when no one's at home because his dog does have accidents once in a while. Having her wear it for a whole year is cruel. You should start crate training IMMEDIATELY. Your mom has to realize that she's a puppy and she will poop and pee on the rug. If you're quick about it, I'm sure you can clean it really good and it won't leave a stain. Is it only certain rooms that have a white carpet? If so, watch her closely when she's on the carpet. If she starts sniffing around for a place to go to the bathroom, bring her outside. If every room has a white carpet, you'll have to closely monitor her. If you keep her on a potty schedule, she can learn quickly when she'll be taken outside to do her business. Good luck with your new pup.

Years ago before spaying was routinely advised for health problems, I had a Great Dane who came into season. I don't know about the availability of dog diapers, however I used men's underpants and incontinence pads. Her tail was slotted through the fly and they were kept on with sellotape. The sellotape was not stuck to the dog, it was used to reduce the waist size of the underpants. This was frustrating for my ***** and I am sure that doggy diapers would be frustrating too. Nevertheless if you don't want to have your b1itch spayed, both you and she will have to find ways of coping will the mess and frustration. Inga was my first dog and this was forty seven years ago. I did not know that b1tches could be spayed. I have had numerous dogs over the years, because I now know the dangers of having an entire ***** all of them have been spayed.

If you can crate train it instead, that would be soo much better... and more comfortable for your doggie! I had to use one for my bishon once, because she had something wrong and she wouldn't even get up to urinate... it was messy, and smelly. You have to clean them all the time and change the pads inside of the diaper.. it's not the best choice.

Ps. IT IS NOT CUTE.. especially when they smell like urine.

i think it is perfectly fine for a dog to wear a diaper. my dog wears a diaper bc he lifted his leg for everything. (if u no wut i mean) he got used to it and it really helped. i dont think it harms them in anyways, plus they look terribly cute! i luv dogs too.

GOOD LUCK!
