More socialization.. Don't encourage the barking by yelling at him or calling his name. Correct the behaviour and move on. He needs to meet more people so he isn't afraid.. And you have to quit rewarding the fear by talking to him, petting him or trying to comfort him. Tell visitors to ignore him.. Don't let him jump on people, but tell people to ignore him, come into the house and sit down., He'll realize that he isn't going to get attention by acting like that.

I have a chihuahua too. My chihuahua doesn't bark. Period. He is such a good boy. It is in the nature/personality of the dog/ breed to bark. I don't know whats wrong with my chihuahua but chihuahuas are yappy, aggressive little dogs. More socialization will help. Good luck with your chihuahua. If he isn't neutered that might be the case. Neutering helps lower aggression... if you're into that sort of thing. I personally don't encourage neutering because of how the operation sounds. I am going to neuter my dog this month or next month but it sounds SO PAINFUL!!!

It's the best way when my dog goes into a barking frenzy at the window I just go to the window and stand over her with a look of disapproval until she leaves the window.
It works fairly well, I just get annoyed at having to go and do it if I'm in the back room working on my desk.

She may even snap at him at times if he does not take no for an answer. merely save a watch on them if she seems to be getting ill of his enjoying, and in case you spot that she's initiating to seem distressed or she does extra beneficial than merely take a single snap at him, you could might desire to separate them for a quick time to furnish your grownup dogs a wreck, and to furnish the domestic dog some trip. as far because of the fact the biting is going while your domestic dog is enjoying, do not enable him to bite on you in any respect. while fiddling with him, use toys fairly of your hand. do not roughhouse with him in a fashion which will reason him to playbite. If he does bite you, say "no" sternly, and then on the instant end fiddling with him, and forget approximately him thoroughly. upward thrust up & walk away and pretend he isn't there for a couple of minutes. try this each and every time he bites. he will quickly understand that biting potential the recreation stops.

Are you picking him up when visitors come over? Worst thing you can do - it sends the message that this person is a threat, mommy/daddy must hold you to protect you from them.
