Sitting is a posture for listening. Kneeling and standing are done out of reverence and prayer. There is a video podcast called That catholic Show at http://www.sqpn.com/?cat=35 The first episode explains it very well.

Ever been to a pentecostal church? I left there out of breath. Catholic mass is a cake walk in comparison.

Pentecostals /Charismatics get more exercise in church and so do Orthodox.
Catholics believe in engaging the whole person,including the body, at worship.
