Would my tattoo be visible if my legs are hairy? I want to get a medium sized skull (only black color) on the side of my leg.

Yea it should be visible, unless you have werewolf hair, if you do have really dark, hairy legs you can always take one of the shavers that you use on your face, with a guard on it, and just trim the hair so its not as long and thick. This is what my bf does because he has pretty hairy legs too.

My husband has this dilemma as well because he has very hairy legs and was thinking about getting a tattoo there. I guess it depends on how hairy they are and how dark the hair is. My husband decided against it because it would look funny with hair coming out of the tattoo.....I've noticed that most guys with leg tattoos keep their legs shaved.

I would get it right above the knee area, where people can still see it, but its not down at the calf area, where the hair will cover it up, you know. And when you wear shorts, wear them a bit shorter, to where there just above the new tattoo!! I've seen guys with them in this same area, and it looks good there!! Or if you even got like a ring of skulls all around the whole upper knee area, would look pretty neat!! I like tattoos, so long as there tasteful looking, and this sounds like it could be, in that area! My son is quite the artist, when it comes to skulls and the like, I keep trying to get him to become a tattoo artist, but he doesn't have enough confidence in his work.. Oh well maybe someday he'll listen to me!! Good Luck to you, and dont forget to keep alot of vaseline on it so it wont have any flaws later, you know.. Have fun!! Smile!!

It should be, black stands out as well as bright colors but that much time in the sun would take its toll on your tattoo later possibly. Be sure to take care of it right and get touch ups if they are called for. I need a couple lines fixed from the scabs making it a little wiggly on the side of my ankle. Your choice ... good luck and happy tattooing!

The growth of hair itself won't have any effect on the tattoo, just how well you can see it. You'd have to get something large and not too detailed like a cross or star or something basic in order for it not to look like a weird birthmark!

First think about if u want that for the rest of ur life n if u take it out u'll have a big burn there, so I'm guessing u decided on getting one and I'm also guessing ur a guy, from my personal taste guys who are hairless are either wierd or gay, its fine if u have a hair in ur legs it might not look nice on girls but its fine on guys so dont worry about it relax, just do it and be happy dont worry too much about people think screw them, make urself happy and then worry about others.

It'll be visible. But leg tattoos look a little ridiculous. How often do you wear shorts?
