I know chicken bones splinter and they are bad for dogs, but what about pork baby back rib bones?

I give them to my dog because she loves them, but I keep an eye on her to make sure she's just chewing on them and doesn't actually swallow anything. I never leave her with them alone because she could choke.

You really shouldn't give dogs any bones.. Pork bones do tend to splinter easily even when they are raw.

It depends on your dog and your comfort level. I've given pork bones (raw only) but generally, raw chicken bones (meat attached) are easier for dogs to digest than pork bones, contrary to what most people here are telling you.

No, most experts agree that poultry and pork bones should never be fed to dogs. Synthetic bones are fine; toss those bones in the trash!

No. If you worked for a vet for the last 20 years like I have and have seen the ingested bones, both cooked and uncooked, that we've had to deal with, you'd never give your dog a real bone again. Why chance it? no no no!

You should never give bones that have been cooked to a dog. Chicken bones are only bad if they have been cooked.
