Why do some dog's tongues hang out from one side like this:

It might be because he's had some teeth removed.

You can't go by the world's ugliest dog.. His tongue is obviously far too big for his mouth.. This is the type of thing you end up with when people just breed their pets to produce more pets.. Eventually someone is winning the world's ugliest dog contest with something you have bred.

Because he has lost the teeth that hold it in / contain it. He's behind his face so I'm sure it doesn't bother him much. Probably made momma some bucks to buy the kibble with too, winning that contest! :)

It is usually because the teeth are missing. Common is the Chinsese Crested breed.

The dogs teeth are either missing or deformed. The teeth help keep the tougues where their supposed to be.

It is genetic with some dogs
