The message I get on the screen when attempting to play the DVD ("Fawlty Towers") is "Unplayable due to area limitations". I thought that DVD technology was universal world-wide. I just want to know if I'll be able to view these at all here in the USA?

This is a problem I have seen a lot... My exhusband used to buy a lot of Bootlegged DVDs while he was in Germany, and it tookl about a month of trial and error before he found a place that sells the ones for the US. There are different technologies for the different countires because they are on different power outlets, or usages, or whatever its called.

perhaps the sony dvd player cant play movies out of your area... perhaps you shoul buy a dvd player where you live. some dvds will not work in all areas. it could be where it comes from..

The U.S. and U.K. use different DVD formats. You would have to buy an European DVD player for them to work. I know it sucks! I hate format wars.
