You will find this very interesting.
Jesus called himself the SON of God and said that God was his FATHER. This relationship has more to do with the Resurrection than the birth of Jesus. A father gives his son life just as Jesus was given life from the grave. Read Acts 13:32-33 and you will see that this is true. The Heavenly Father showed that Jesus was his Son by the Resurrection.
So... to answer your question. Jesus' job was done, but God's job wasn't. God had one more thing to do, to verify that Jesus was his Son by giving him life.

I won't give you my opinion...but what God's Word says on this issue. The resurrection of Christ is the center of the Christian faith. God always does what He says and He promised on the third day He would rise from the dead. Because He rose, Christians have hope and assurance that our sins are forgiven. And we know that because Jesus rose, so will our dead bodies rise to new life and meet Him in the air, just as He said ( 1 Corinthians chapter 15 ).

Because what good is it to the plot to have him dead? Think about it. Whose gonna believe in a savior who's dead? Can't really get behind the idea of some random guy who talks to God and got murdered being the "Savior of The World?" Ok, we'll kill him, and then bring him back three days later.
It all goes to the plot. Just like Hollywood. Dark Ages Hollywood.

Okay Big Bang. Is this an honest question or just another attack on the faith of Christians? Jesus Christ Reserected to prove his promisses and to defeat death. I will pray for you.

To provide proof that Jesus had conquered death. If Jesus hadn't been resurrected, people might have gotten the idea that death had won.

Whie He was burried for the 3 days, He went down to the pit of Hell to get the key (key of life) from the devil (satan), so that we can live forever, when Adam & Eve sinned against God, that's when we (human race) died. However, He had to raise again to show us we will be the same way. Eventhough, we may die here on earth, but we will live again.

If you are asking why he was resurrected? The answer is simple, to fulfill God's Word. He returned to earth to show he died, rose and was resurrected into Heaven.
He came, and died for our sins. He was resurected into Heaven to live eternally at the hand of his father.

Yes. The resurrection was a validation of His claims, and an example of what believers had to look forward to after death.
