The Catholic church doesn't set the standard for the church world, nor for God's people and neither does the Anglican group.
When we put on Christ, there is neither Jew nor Greek, neither bond nor free, neither male nor female; for we are all one in the Anointed (the Messiah) Jesus and in His anointing!
Galatians 3: 26 - 28.
Jesus Christ sets the standard. The first person to go "tell" the discisples after the resurrection was Mary Magdelene and the other Mary.., a WOMAN. Jesus didn't give her that assignment because there was no other choice; it was because He made that deliberate decision as an example to all you 'good ole boys'.
There are many female ministers and preachers and those who fill every place in the kingdom.., and it isn't usurping ANYTHING if God gives you the mission and the gifts for it. To TAKE anything without it being a given is usurping a position or authority.
Women don't have the position in a marriage relationship to be the "head", but they have much and equal influence by being the "heart". Yet, in the church, the anointing of the Holy Spirit is given to all, male and female, to profit all.., the whole body of Christ. None of us have any right to decide how to serve or how to minister unless it is 'FROM THE LORD', and then, we can't NOT! Men and denominations may not approve, but God will make a way and a place, if it is His call on your life. ALL believers are one spirit with the Lord when we are joined to Him. (1 Corinthians 6: 15 - 17; Ephesians 2: 18 - 22..., men and women from Jews and Gentile nations.
The religious world has typically been ruled and controled by men that didn't understand that "headship" didn't mean "dominant boss", but reponsible leader under the authority of Jesus Christ and human example of His name and nature toward the 'called out ones'.., the church.
Men and women have different functions in many areas of life, but in the church there is neither male nor female according to God's own words.

Because the Church Jesus Christ founded follows His teaching, and He made it perfectly clear that He intended a male priesthood, by choosing 12 out of 12 men as His first priests, inspite of the availability of many holy women, including His own mother.

Manmade churches can make any rules they want to. There is no accountability. But Christ's own Church is accountable to Him for every decision made, either according to His clearly revealed will, or in opposition to it.

Of course, the ministers of manmade churches are in no way comparable to Catholic priests. Such churches have no valid sacramental orders, and no valid priesthood. Women in the Catholic Church do everything that Protestant ministers do, except baptize, and unordained Catholic men don't do that either.

There are more women ministers in the Catholic Church than there are members of many large denominations. In most or many Catholic dioceses women do everything male ministers do except preside at sacraments. The majority of Catholic pastoral ministers(not ordained) in the US are women. Not all Anglican denominations ordain women to priesthood and/or episcopate(bishop).
The sociological reason for not ordaining women to the ministerial priesthood(for they are ordained to the baptismal priesthood by baptism and confirmation and have calls to the apostolate of the Gospel) is that such a thing would bring great turmoil. One theological reason is that one needs to be male in order to be in persona Christi Sacerdotalis to act in the person of Christ as priest since Jesus became male in the incarnation and one could become jewish but one cannot become male if she is not born to it and genetically male.. Among the biblical reasons are Jesus picked no female apostles(disciples, yes) and the Church of the book of Acts and the Epistles did not ordain women as presbyters and bishops.

The Catholic Church believes that Jesus intended the priesthood to be exclusively male, and that we haven't the authority to change that.

The Anglican communion obviously does not agree with this view, however, it must be pointed out that the Anglican view of the priesthood differs from the Catholic and Orthodox (who also do not have women priests), so it is apples and oranges.

I don't know, but the Catholic Church has to do something about the priest situation considering no one wants to become priests anymore. But, it could be because the Bible states that women should not preach, but should teach. I'm not sure why the Anglican church would disregard that part of scripture. But then again, a lot of churches disregard a lot of scripture to fit what they want to hear.

The Catechism of the Catholic Church currently states:

The Lord Jesus chose men to form the college of the twelve apostles, and the apostles did the same when they chose collaborators to succeed them in their ministry.

The Church recognizes herself to be bound by this choice made by the Lord himself. For this reason the ordination of women is not possible.

With love in Christ.
