A friend's mom is getting married soon and so my friend wanted to know how long its going to take for him to get the social security card. He was not born here, so he never had one. What about citizenship? How long will that take? Thanks

Marriage alone does not grant citizenship

First the visitor must be here legally
( If not they must return home and have a I -130 filed on their behalf ) takes about 2 years

If here legally then they can file an I - 551 - Petition to change status - After approval - 4 to 8 months - they can apply for a social security card and will recieve a ( Green Card - It is actually white, hasn't been green since the 1950's )

none of it is easy or cheap
Every case is different - see an immigration attorney

You don't give us enough facts to hazard a guess. There are a lot of variables. You should try uscis.gov is your friend's mom is legally here, or an attorney, if she isn't.

Stupid question that deserves no answer! Who pays you, the Republican National Committee? You better be more worried that there is going to be a Constitution left at all after the goose-stepping Bush gets out of office, if he doesn't try to take it over!
