Well...I don't have any hard numbers, but I'd assume that it is true.
Why?
The United States is just about 90% religious. If only 10% are atheists/agnostics, we can assume that the molesters would be mostly religious. Of course, that doesn't mean that the religious are more apt to do it; it just means that there are more religious people.
Let's use a sample of 1000 people, and let's just say that we have 900 religious and 100 atheist/agnostics.
So, if 1% of the atheists/agnostics did it, that would be 1 person, as opposed to 1% of the religious, where it would be 9 people.

From the number of paedos uncovered working in schools, churches, scouts and similar youth-oriented organisations, it's clear that it's the nature of the job, rather than its prerequisites, that counts.
