"Please refrain your answer from the bible." ?
I am not sure why you would place such a ridiculous stipulation upon your question unless it was simply to point out that the Bible is the best evidence for the Resurrection.
Why did you write this stipulation? Do you fear what the Bible might say? Shirley you would not examine the the life of Socrates without reading the works of Plato! Nor would you examine the life of Jesus without reading the works of his disciples.
An intelligent person would examine the evidence at hand so...
P.S. Also, your sentence doesn't make sense!

There is no evidence. The Bible is the only source that states that it happened. A thing cannot be used to prove itself.
What christians have is FAITH, nothing more. Faith may be defined as "the belief that something is true despite the total lack of evidence to prove it or even overwhelming evidence to the contrary"
Saying that the resurrection took place "because the bible says so" is the same as saying wizards fly on broomsticks because the Harry Potter books say so.
If any book can be proof in itself then obviously you must also agree with Darwin's Origin of Species and Richard Dawkins books.
There is nothing special about the bible - it was written by men who by today's standards were superstitious and poorly educated. There is no proof of the resurrection in the bible any more than there is proof of the existence of god or the unsubstantiated claim that he wrote the bible.
The gospels which talk of jesus as an ordinary mortal man who died and was NOT resurrected were edited out of the bible in the Third Century AD by those who wanted more control over the unruly population of the time and thought that a more god-like and immortal jesus would better serve their purpose.

...Another factor worth considering is the character of the disciples. They were eleven cowardly men who shut themselves in a room after the crucifixion because they were afraid. Yet what galvanized them into action so that within their own lifetime, much of the thenknown world could hear the message of Christ? Some of them paid for this message with their lives. Would they have done so if the resurrection were a hoax? ...
...Frank Morrison, a British lawyer of the 1930s, undertook an expedition to collect circumstantial evidence to disprove the resurrection. Such evidence, of course, is admissible in all courts of law in civilised countries to prove or disprove events of which there are no living eyewitnesses. When he analysed the evidence, he reached a stunning conclusion: The resurrection had actually taken place! Morrison presented his case in his book, "Who Moved the Stone?"...

Over 500 people saw the risen Lord Jesus, and this is at one time. He appeared to others at different times as well. This evidence would hold up in a court of law today. Yes this is from the Bible, but you can not disregard this, the Bible is a historical document as well as the inspired word of God. The Bible is reliable, not to mention its withstood the test of time. If you do not agree that is OK with me because I know that the Lord is risen, he has changed my life and that is evidence to me personally.

Caiaphas, the high priest and Pontius Pilate conspired to lie about His body being stolen by His disciples. After having attempted to refute the resurrection claims of Jesus' disciples, and failing, they almost certainly would have been scouring the entire region for His remains. At this time, the disciples were on the run during a Roman crackdown on believers. Believers were being executed left and right. Since the body was never found, they couldn't have stolen it. They wouldn't have been able to hide the body so well that it was never discovered after 2,000 years. And they wouldn't have been able to keep it with them. It would have drawn too much attention, and sealed their fate.

For me, it's simply the fact that Christianity survived. The ONLY way Christianity could have exploded the way it did was by the tomb being empty, and the resurrection is the only viable explanation for it, even if that kind of thing doesn't exactly happen every day.
How else could the body have disappeared?

The Bible teaches clearly that Jesus Christ rose from the grave. The Bible is a collection of eye witnesses accounts, and in any secular court they would be more then what is needed to prove something. In fact the Bible tells us that 500 people saw Jesus alive after He rose from the grave.
John 20:9 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

My personal baptism of the Holy Spirit and the gifts from Him I have and evidence..., and they ONLY were promised to appear AFTER His resurrection and His shed blood was poured out on the mercy seat in heaven where Lucifer/satan defiled it!
And you didn't want the Bible answer, but it's the ONLY truth you will EVER have from God, which is all truth!

Luke's account in Acts is a good testimony to that. Luke writes of the history of the early church, with much geographical and archaeological data that has testified to the reliability of Luke's witness.
The funny thing is, Luke never accounts of persecution of Christians...which we know happened from Nero in the early 60's AD. Thirty years is a very short time for such a fabricated story and legend to be started by a group of people that has taken on 2000 years worth of belief...
And please, anyone who would like to discuss this, please feel free to email me. I get quite bored with no one to argue with at times... ;)
