sperm, would you still have been the same person in spirit?

I know that only 1 egg at a time is sent, but what was it about that one egg or what was it about that particular sperm that gave you your spiritual self?

If you believe that God is in control of all things, then it would have been impossible for any other sperm or any other egg to come together -- other than the sperm and egg that formed you. It was destiny.

Of course not... My specific sense of self is determined in large part by my neurochemistry, specifically by this wonderful circumstance I call "introversion". Had I ended up with a different neurochemestry, even with all the same experiences, I wouldn't be me.

Now, if one is incorporating a concept soul into this, obviously neither the sperm nor the egg hold the soul (unless God built us to commit frequent genocide), so a new soul, which isn't at all dependent on when it happened, only the constituant parts, would have to be formed when they unite, but not from the parts of either one...

I don't believe the sperm or the egg had much to do with it. What you learn in your life and how you accept the fact there is a God and a Jesus and a Holy Spirit that makes the difference. Some accept and some don't. I accepted and very glad I did for many reasons. Those that don't have their reasons for not accepting...one of us will be right in the end...I believe I know which one.

The egg has no power. The Lord is the creator of all things, even those eggs and sperm. The Lord knew you, Midge, specifically in His mind before you were ever in your mom's womb and no egg could prevent your being born because He said so.

It didn't. You are just a cluster of cells for the longest time. You aren't a person, a soul, or anything. You're just a cluster of dividing cells.

dont mean to sound harsh but it's a fact. get over it.

It's all random, you're all you, there is no "spiritual self."
