I have 5 kids 2 of which are my step. But when I had my first daughter I knew I wanted her to have a companion to play with and grow up with , So I waited till she was about to turn one to start the process,so by the time the new baby was born She would be almost two. About two to three years old is a good age to have them apart their still in close age and they'll be in school together, and as they get older you'll enjoy watching them share and grow closer together. Ididn't have a sister to really share things with just three brothers,2 older and 1 younger but it was fun, although when I was born my 2 older brothers were already in their teen and pre-teen years so I was quite lonely, although I had friends it wasn't the same cuz I didn't have someone ther with me all the time or to rely on other than my mom or a friend,I had always wanted to have a sisier to share things with that you couldnt with a friend. Well hope this was helpful, just remember to keep them close in age but not to far cuz then they really wont be able to be on the same level, which is important if you want them to be close.

The old adage was every two years and many families still adhere to that rule.
I guess the two year mark is because most babies by the age of two are eating regular food, off the bottle, potty trained or just about, sleeping through the night and generally easier to take care of their needs unlike an infant.
Now my sister and I are 15 mos. apart
My kids were only 13 mos apart.
My nieces kids are all 2 years apart.
My friends kids are 2 years apart except for the last one 7years.

Perhaps a year gap? At least the burden is not as bad as a new born babe. You get me? Once your first child's a year old, its easier to have and care for a new one.

I think 2 years is a good age difference, ideal I'd say.

it's easier if you don't really need to place all the BB crud in storage so I would suggest NOW otherwise you will be out of practice and will have given away most of the clothes...and bb stuff (crib playpen blah blah blah) also if you wait too long you will have to suffer through finding a sitter TWICE
YIKES
