To Joy Full: I'm not confused on the matter, I merely asked a question. You've read more into it than is deserved.

No...I asked a question and you answered it. That being said, I've, on many occasions, heard some believers address their seemingly unresolvable problems by saying: "It's God's will." This appears, to me, an issue of placing responsibility for their situation on their god?

No I think prayer is used mainly to beg for things. PLEASE give me a new job/car/girlfriend/house or PLEASE make me lose 50 lbs/go on a fab vacation/be recognized for my accomplishments etc etc ad nauseum

I pray in order to communicate with God. It doesn't mean that I'm released in any way from taking responsibility for my own actions, or solving my own problems. Are you suggesting that, simply because I pray, that I'm somehow incapable of solving my own problems, or am magically absolved from personal responsibility?

I don't. Prayer to me is a way of talking to God. The same way you would talk to any friend. Yes I ask for his forgiveness but I don't do it to avoid the consequences of my own actions. I make the mistakes and I will take responsibility for them. God didn't make me do anything good or bad. That is my choice to make.

How can one hope to build a relationship with anyone without conversation? This is one of the reasons we pray, to not only talk to the Lord, but to also listen. If there is a pain or problem in my life, I definitely RUN to my Father in heaven because there is absolutely noone who loves me more than Him and noone who has all the answers for my life. You see, the Lord does not mind us coming to Him. In fact, He desires us to trust Him that much. He has that same love for you too if you want it.

Can you find anywhere in the Bible where a person prayed, did nothing (including having faith), and then received a problem solving answer from God?

No, my problems are my own. Prayer isn't just about asking God for things, it's about talking to God.

No. What people use to try to absolve themselves of responsibility - are called "excuses".
You are confused about this. Prayer has nothing to do with shirking accountability.
