I've noticed a lot of girls will wait until they're about to have an accident before they go. Why do they do that?

I don't know who you're hanging around with. Whoever they are, if you can, tell them not to wait. It's unhealthy, and they'll get a bladder infection eventually.

Really? I just assumed that most people have a larger bladder than I do, because I'm the exact opposite. I go whenever the opportunity is offered, or whenever I start to feel discomfort. I only wait until I'm "about to have an accident" when I'm forced to (which is, unfortunately, often the case, since I tend to drink a lot of water). However, sometimes people comment that I go to the bathroom all the time (which is really nice and informative of them, isn't it), so maybe that's a reason why some girls wait longer--so it doesn't look weird.

nurses especially get huge capacity bladders because of this, but they go long periods because they cannot always leave their patients. Unfortunately the side effect is being prone to bladder infections and bladder polyps. It is always better to be able to empty the bladder every two hours.

That actually is a weird question and every girl that I know does that including myself. LOL. I guess its just because we have better things to do, we don't want to, don't feel like it, and we just don't want to take the time out to do, I guess, thats why I hold mine for so long anyways. LOL.

To be honest, I have no idea. I do it too! lol. Usually I get preoccupied with doing something else that I do not want to leave what I'm doing. Then i get more occupied with what I'm doing that i forget about having to go to the restroom.

its a process of the bladder. we make our bladders stronger. plus, its better to wait then go during class and miss something. in fact, im holding it in right now. lol

They don't want to miss out on anything so they wait until they can no longer hold it. As you get older, you realize that sooner is better!
