I agree with Annie J. If the kitchen still stinks, open a window and light a candle (or a few) or just use air freshener.

well arent oven mittens supost to be used for getting hot things out of the oven!?? I would say just throw it away, open the closest door or window, spray a fresh scent around the kitchen, and go to the store and buy a more sturdy one. so u wont have to go through the trouble of washing it or getting the terrible stench off.

Get it out of the house first. Then open windows and point the fans going outward. And spray the place with Lysol or Febreeze or some air freshener.

This is coming from someone with a lot of cooking mistakes under her belt over the years!

I can't tell you how may times I've done this. Unfortunately, all you can do is wait for the smell to go away...and it will unless you've burnt the mitt to a total crisp. If you did, I'd throw it away and buy a new one.

I would throw away the mitt. Then I would buy another mitt to replace it. Finish off with an air freshener, candle, or open the windows. Good luck!
