Ex Pentecostal here. One and a half year in the Assembly of God and one and a half year in the Jesus Only UPC church a total of three years in Pentecostal churches.

My name says it all I am pagan, Wicca is my religion. I still speak in tongues, that is an ancient practice that goes back way before Christ. The tongues in the bible are merely a foreign language not known to the speaker. Read Acts chapter 2 and you will find the Apostles were speaking human languages that were understood by those who were from those regions.

De han deyalo masayta lesasso, ele hondo satelay econdelay ma satay lesasso is not a language spoken by humans and is merely ecstatic utterances, which can be very full filling to those of us whose religions uses trances to commune with Deity.

I suggest a old, but very good documentary movie titled simply Marjoe. Marjoe Gortner was a child Evangelist in the 1940's. He became the first 4 year old to be ordained in the Pentecostal church.

As far as how I feel about it, i think it is plain that I have no problem with it. Pagans have gone into trances and spoken in languages like this for thousands of years. Whatever helps us to commune with Deity is a tool worth using.

In the second century the first Christian to use ecstance utterrance in place of the definition of Acts chapter 2 was a preacher named Montanas(spelling) He was not very successful because the early church fathers labled him a heretic and he was the first to allow women to get up and take lead in these services which was unheard of for that time period. The women were instrumental of going into trances first, jerking and dancing around and speaking in a way not understood and these were the first Christians to claim to be speaking in heavenly languages.

Then in the early part of the 1900's Neo Pentecostalism was born at the Asuza street Mission. The rest is history. have fun and enjoy yourself.

I'm not Pentecostal; I'm Roman Catholic. I have several Pentecostal friends, though, and have been to quite a few Pentecostal services. I found the charismatic style of worship interesting, and I've been asked to play guitar at a few Pentecostal churches, which I did (I work with the music at my church, and will sometimes do so at others, as well). In my area, the Pentecostals vastly outnumber the Catholics.

I was raised in a pentecostal church. But after experiences with people that claim to be Pentecostal I quit going to church. I don't claim any denomination. Although I still do believe there is one God.

I spent my entire life a Pentecostal. Not anymore. I was spirit filled. When I saw that my religion was the cause of most of my problems I gave it up. My life was governed by horrid fear brought on by religion. When I gave it up, the fear left. Also, a dead persons spirit left my body (saw it myself with witnesses to it) when I had starved it by not living a christian life anymore. That was the "holy spirit". When Jesus said these kind come out only by prayer and fasting , the fasting was not about food, sustenance for the body. He was talking about starving a spirit or demon for lack of a better word. You starve them by taking away their spiritual food. I've been a whole person ever since. If Jesus warns us about this, then maybe you should question your religious beliefs. This stuff is dangerous and people that don't know what they are doing are playing with it. Peace and love>

Personally, I'm an athiest, but I have to say of all the many variations faith takes in this world, Pentecostals are my favorite by far.

I highly recommend their services. If you attend only one sermon this year, make it a Pentecostal one.

I'm a Christian, plain and simple. As for how I feel:

Jhn 6:68 Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

Seventh-Day Adventist.

I believe in ONE Baptism, in the name of the FATHER, the SON and the HOLY SPIRIT.

I can receive the HOLY SPIRIT without speaking in tongues!

This is NOT evidence of the presence of the HOLY SPIRIT!

I feel good about it, however, I worry about apostasy creeping into our church.

GOD bless
