Okay yesterday my cat was laying down on my bed in the air condition and then suddleny he started shaking, and couldnt walk, vomitting, dizzy, and breathing very rapidly. So I took him to the vet and they said they have never seen something like this...He is better now and the vet said it was heat stroke but how was it heat stroke when the whole house is air conditioned and no weird smells (vet said maybe weird smells?) I was just wondering if anybody else has had this problem? He has never been sick before and he is 4 years old..basically an indoor cat in the summer because he REFUSES to go out in the hot.

What was his temperature when the vet saw him? I doubt it was heat stroke if he was inside lying down in the air conditioning. He could have had a seizure--that can raise the body temperature quite high. I'd try to get more medical info--something doesn't sound right.

wow i have never heard of an in door cat get heat stroke ; especially when he was indoors and by the air conditioner., Maybe your cat had a fever and has a seizure as that can make their temperature go way up as it;s happened to my son before. I would keep an eye out on your little fellow for a few days just to make sure he;s doing good ; and that vet sounds like he has rocks in his head; ..Is that your regular vet? If so you may want to find another one ; as he seems to be uninformed about your cat,,, good luck hope all is well for you and kitty,,,,

Maybe it was a seizure that caused an increased temp. making the vet think that it was heat related. Talk to the vet or get a second opinion. If it is a seizure they will be able to help prevent this with medication if they feel that it is needed. Good luck to you and your kitty.
