Many of you here told me I wasn't and you were all right, I was never a true Christian.

I repeatedly asked God / Jesus into my heart but I never felt as though I was born-again, never felt I had the holy spirit with me. As hard as I prayed, as hard as I tried, as badly as I wanted it, It never happened.

Why does God not want me as his child?

Thanks for the question, these were some of the funniest answers I have read in a while! Christians are hilarious.

Of course, god does not exist. But you already know that!

Fantasy,
PLEASE don’t make the mistake of thinking that you MUST experience a mountain top experience immediately after being “Born Again” If you have asked Christ to come into your life, it is a DONE DEAL. The main reason why you don’t feel anything is because it is an act of God not you. You simply opened your heart and God came into your soul and is now there for life!
Nicodemus questioned how such an incredible thing can be. Jesus said_ 5Jesus answered, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6" That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7"Do not be amazed that I said to you, 'You must be born again.'
8"he wind blows where it wishes and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from and where it is going; so is everyone who is born of the Spirit." ¬_John3:7, 8
I’m sure many Christians will rally on this site and give you great support and I will continue to pray your strength in the Lord. God Bless

He does want you as His child. I can not know why you feel the wall between you and God. All I can do is tell you to pray on it. I know that sounds silly when it currently doesn't seem to be working but keep on going.
Ask God to show you if there is something that is getting in the way of your relationship with Him.
Don't let anyone tell you differently-- it is all about the relationship.
Obedience is very important to the Christian walk, but it's not "I'll be good so I can earn God's love and get to Heaven."
You already have God's love, if you accept Christ you already have a seat in Heaven. Being obedient to God and His word is a way of being thankful for what you have been given so freely.
I recomend finding a Life Application Bible in your favorite translation (I like the NIV, many say that the King James is the only way to go, it's up to you, there are many out there.)
These bibles have commentary for most of the verses to help you understand what this means for you in your life.
Pray before you spend time in the word, so that God can bless your experience and speak to you through His word.
Find a good church where you feel the love of God. Fellowship with fellow believers is REALLY important.
God loves you, have faith.

Your trying to go by Feelings.
Sometimes a person feels something, sometimes he,she dosen't.
Just Trust in What GOD Said!!!
The Feelings will come later as you Grow in Chirst.

This happens alot with Children of GOD (who are already Born-Again) who ASK GOD to FILL them with the Holy Spirit.
Then they think GOD hasn't done it because they didn't FEEL something when they Asked!!!
Really!!!
There are Tons of Children of GOD who got Filled with the Holy Spirit, but they don't think they did cause of their Feelings!
All you gotta do is start Acting on what GOD Said, and you will Talk in Tongues (not Delivering a Message in an Meeting with an Interpreter). You will be able to Pray (talk) in Tongues in your Prayer Closet and get Edified (spiritual battery's charged up!).

If you did what Romans 10:9 said to do and MEANT IT (no fooling around), then YOU got Born-Again--Feelings or No Feelings. Your IN like Flint!!!
Now act like it and find a Bible Believing Spirit Filled church (building) and Go to it on Sundays and Worship GOD!!!

Ditto............Welcome to the Family!!!

We are saved by grace through faith, a gift from God, not of works. If you can, distinguish the difference between the God of Jesus and the god of christianity. I know, on the surface you think they are the same, but they are not. Focus your attention on what Jesus said and did. Look for something central or key in His teachings that would give you a clear starting point. Let The Spirit of truth raise your understanding from there.

Sorry it does not work that way. God wants all of us. So if you do not feel him you have to ask yourself a few questions. Do I truly believe? Am I sincere in my desire to move away from sin. You have to believe it and not doubt. Feelings are not the measure of faith. You might try fasting and praying. As I am sure many will tell you that it is your own doubt or Satan that is keeping you from belief. Allow me to quote one verse to you.

1 Corinthians 1:17-19 (New International Version)

17For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel—not with words of human wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

Christ the Wisdom and Power of God
18For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19For it is written:
"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise;
the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate

The key points here are that it is not you that saves it is God and that those that use human wisdom it is silly or a myth.

If you wish email me and we can talk at length.

Pray the lord Jesus, and you will be rewarded in the Valhalla from his father Odin... Wait, messed up things...

Just live as intensely as you can and love as hard as you can. If there is a god willing to send you to hell for living like that, he is not worth of adoration but only of spite.

What did you expect to feel? Our spiritual birth runs much deeper than the level of our emotions. Just because you haven't felt anything doesn't mean you are not saved. Do not rely on emotions. If you honestly came to God with repentant heart and accepted Jesus as your savior, the next step is obedience to him. When you start following the Lord, peace and joy will follow.

God does want you. He wants as many people as we can possibly get for him. He wants you saved. It takes time. Honestly, I didn't feel change until last summer. I went to a convention in Indiana that I recently went to again. Maybe you just aren't looking in the right places. Don't give up. Just keep trying ok?

Salvation is not based on a feeling.

Salvation is based on the fact that if you sincerely told Jesus that you were sorry for your sins, and that you wanted him to be your Lord and savior, then you are in. Period.
