A baby male guinea pig.

People are often saying males cannot be kept together - that IS NOT true! They CAN if they are at the right ages and introduced properly. You should not put different species of animals together EVER (nope not even a rabbit)!

I have 2 pairs of male guinea pigs together - they get on PERFECTLY.

I would introduce a baby guinea pig who is no older than 3 months - they will not fight if one is a baby when introduced. You WILL have a few arguments when the baby hits puberty - but this is FINE, they will resolve themselves. DO NOT separate unless one bleeds.

Good luck!

Guinea pigs live in herds and like to have more of their kind around them. I think if you did get another one, your now would calm down a little. She might just be stressed and needs a playmate that will help him cooperate Guinea pigs are social herd animals and need to be in same sex A buddy may help her be a more social and less skittish. They need to be in pairs no matter how much attention you give them. You are not a guinea pig and cannot replace one. Guinea pigs eat together, sleep together, groom each other, play together, communicate etc in a way you cannot. Just like people, guinea pigs need to be with their own species or their mental health really suffers. Social animals need to be with their own species. The only exception is if a guinea pig is too aggressive to be housed with another guinea pig but that doesn't happen too often. A pair of guinea pigs is a better option than just one. You need to make sure that you are sure of the sex of the guinea pigs if you are going to buy 1 so a pet shop isn't always the best place to buy from. Here are some of the issues to think about when deciding whether to get one or two guinea pigs. Is the pair a mature, bonded pair with a known personality? Are you 100% certain of the sex? Remember, pet stores frequently missex animals and knowingly or unknowingly sell a pregnant female or a breeding pair. The more you know about the pair you are considering adopting or buying, the less risk you have of some of the other issues in this list. If the pair is young (under 6 months) and same-sex (siblings or otherwise), then you will be risking the fact that they MAY not get along in the future, especially as they progress through adolescence. If you get a male/female pair and the male is neutered or the female is spayed and they are currently living together, it is very rare that they will cease to get along at any point in the future. Any tiffs are usually temporary and they will settle right down again.

You could get:
- a male guinea pig (they don't have to be neutured - having two un-neutured males together won't change their behavior or anything.)
- a spayed female guinea pig
- a female guinea pig, but spay your male pig first

Personally, I would go for getting a second male, as it would be cheaper, safer, and easier than putting one of your piggies through surgery.

Oh, and always quarantine your second guinea pig first for a few weeks to prevent any spread of illness.

If both are neutered, another male guinea pig would be a great friend. They like company :)

Male guinea pigs do not always fight. Definitely get him a buddy, as long as your cage is plenty big to accomodate two pigs.

I would say another guinea pig. I know my guinea pigs were happy and content when they weren't by themselves.

Another male guinea pig or a spayed female pig are your only options.
