Ask them to stop...or buy some ear plugs. I used to use them when I worked a night shift. It help to block out the noise of people mowing their lawns etc.

There are forms of meditation you can apply. Concentrating on your inner thoughts, and not letting the sounds control your restful mind. Let go of any thoughts of frustration, and try to mentally accept the noises as natural. The noises don't keep you awake, it's your reaction to those noises that occupies your mind. Free your mind, and you will find sleep.

Well if you can, tell the people to stop making the noise. You could also try earplugs or hearing protection, which you could probably find at a construction store like the Home Depot.

I would suggest some type of noisemaker (rain or forest). With any luck, while sleeping you will subconsciously focus on the rain instead of the pounding.

If that doesn't work, you might have to go about it the old fashioned way: ear plugs.

my mother had the same problem you need to contact your local council and ask to speak to environment services. They will send you a noise diary thay you have to fill out for a few weeks and then they will fit a sound measuring device in your home for a few days.If they think it is bad then they will take them to court and fine them,if they (the noise makers) rent the property then they will have them evicted.Thats hat happened in my mums case.Hey,dont EVER have a child, you never ever get sleep then!

If you can move and you know this is deliberate attempts to keep you awake, then move. If you are tired you will fall asleep no matter what is happening. I have no problem sleeping with lots of machinery running around me but if I am not sleepy, it doesn't matter how quiet it is, I stay awake.
