You know some people have slower matabalisums then others. I would give up the protein shakes, they usually have high fat content and are made for bodybuilders to put on muscle. Muscle puts on pounds b/c it weighs more then fat. .Are u really working out hard? Or just going thru the motions? You need to sweat a lot. I fight in MMA and can easly drop 25lbs in a few months. Don't always go by the scale either, you can still look good and not be 100lbs.but Your 4 9 so your kind of a midget and probablly look like a little pitbull at 135lbs. Try wacking some lines down and put the ice cream to rest. You can also ride the dills a few times a day. That helps burn off calories. Let me know, I can help u with that.

find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 300-400cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
eat 5-6 small meals a day (eat every 2-3 hours - it optimizes your metabolism)
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day
8 glasses of water
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio exercise 4-6 times a week for 30-50min (ideally 45min because the first 20-30min body burns carbs and only then starts burning fat), light weight training (more muscle=faster metabolism)
instead of drinking protein in the morning drink it wright after weight training.
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, icecream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
ofcourse you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)

Hello there Tigra...what you are saying is exactly what I used to hear all the time when I was training. People get discouraged then they give up and go back to their old lifestyle. I certainly don't want to make you feel bad, but if you are exercising like that and still not losing very quickly, you have to be taking in too many calories. I always say losing weight is 80% food and 20% exercise. Being that you are a petite female (I love short girls btw ;-) you cannot really eat too many calories, especially when you're trying to shed some fat. We aren't too worried about exactly "what" you eat, it's all about the calories. It's not healthy, but you could lose weight eating practically anything. You could eat all french fries and as long as you were under your maintenance level you would lose. That said, the protein shakes are a good idea and protein is very important. You want to lose fat, not muscle, and protein (along with exercise) helps to keep your muscle. If I were you I would shoot for 1200-1500 cals a day, split into about 4 meals (that includes 3 meals and 1 shake). Another good idea is to start off with about 20 grams of complete protein (milk, meat, basically any protein from an animal source) at each meal (not counting the shake, the protein in a shake is fine, although I would definitely have a piece of fruit like a banana with your shake.) Then you can build your meal around the protein, obviously fruits and veggies are a good choice to build with, as 'most' of them have fairly low calories and they help to fill you up when you are eating lower than usual calories. You also want to get a little bit of fat at each meal, you don't want it to be totally fat-free, as fat helps to make you feel full. There are also certain essential fatty acids that your body can't produce, so don't be totally terrified of fat. You just want a little bit of fat at each meal, for example a teaspoon of peanut butter blended up in your protein shake. Here is a page about healthy fat choices you can take a look at: http://www.med.umich.edu/umim/clinical/pyramid/fats.htm. If you try out what I suggest here, you should see weight loss of 1-2 lbs per week, You never want to lose more than 1-2 lbs in a week, if you are losing faster than that it is impossible for you to not be losing muscle. Also, a smaller woman such as yourself should really expect to lose about 1 lb a week, with an occasional 2 lb week. As I said in other answers of mine, I could go on about this forever, but even if you don't remember anything else that I said, remember this. You would see better weight loss results eating right and not working out at all! I'm not suggesting that, just letting you know how important it is. Hope this helps, let me know if you have some more Qs and I will try to help. Good luck!

Well, what is your diet like? Are you eating fatty, unhealthy food? This may be the problem. Try to just drink protein shakes in the morning, and have a very small dinner (preferably oatmeal or cereal). Don't get discouraged. You've come this far.
