is 15 an ok age to get ur tongue pierced? why do alot of ppl say that most girls get it done just for sexual reasons? would it be wierd if some who is really girly get it done. like someone who has long blonde hair only has her ears pierced and wears preppy clothes but still likes partying.

Ok I tried to type out a reply but it got deleted so I'll try to say it again:
I got a tongue ring at 22 just for the hell of it (on a dare). It hurts like hell, your tongue swells up to double its size, I drooled a lot when I first got it (that was disgusting), people automatically think you are a s**t if you have one, it hurts if you bite it accidently, and you have to live on Listerine for about a week I think. No smoking, kissing, oral sex for a month I think? I took mine out at 24 because I decided I was too old for it. The reason people say to get a ring for sexual reasons is because it makes oral sex better. Also it can be dangerous because there is a major artery or vein in your tongue and if it gets pierced accidently, you are in trouble. If it gets infected you are in trouble. I also remember reading that if you have heart trouble (even if you don't know you do) an infection in your blood from a tongue ring can travel to your heart and give you a heart infection.
Just be careful. If you do get one take care of it.
Can you even get on at 15? In NY 18 is the legal age.
Oh I also had a lisp that I didn't have before or after I took the ring out. And my dentist said my teeth were just fine and I had a ring for almost 3 years.

I think getting your tongue pierced, or any piercing, has to be a personal choice. Saying one age is too young or one is too old is a hard thing to do. I think it totally depends on the individual. Best advise before you do it, make sure it is what you really want to do for yourself.

No. It is not okay. Wait until you are 18. The reason alot of people say that most women get it done for sexual reasons, is because alot of women get it done for sexual reasons...Guys, too!
I got it done at the request of my significant other....But, um, I'm a grown woman in a committed relationship.
BTW. I talk just fine and could from day one. Most of the time, those who have problems with speach after they get it done, is because it was done too close to the front of the tongue. It should be as close to the middle of the mouth as possible.

well a lot of people think that tongue piercing is used for sexual reasons because it is.........like kissing, oral pleasures, and yeah that kind of stuff. i know a couple of girls and guys who are 15 and have their tongue pierced. just know that the piercing can damage your teeth overtime. make sure you do it professionaly!

i am preppy and i got my tongue pierced when i was 14 and no getting your tongue pierce is not just for sexual acts i got my done just for decoration

omg im your actually exactly like me, im 15 and im quite girly and i definetly didnt get it for sexual reasons, i absoloutly dont see why people think this they should think it about genital peircings, i love partying aswell, i think u should not worry i got mine done 3 days ago and i LOVE it if u really want it done u will love it so much just like me :) all my friends think it so sikk, all older people think bad and stuff but the people who matter like ur friends and youself stuff think its hot trust me get it done ull love it

Tongue piercings aren't cute :T
It can mess up your speech sometimes and it can mess up your teeth too. It causes small cracks in your teeth.

not to tell you what to or anything but if you ever want to eat normally, then don't get it pierced at all... take it from an expert
