god incites religious, racial, and gender discrimination and promotes hate crimes. under American laws, the only just remedy is to abolish god.

God should be left to the choice of the person. Like the pledge of allegiance. Should people,students be forced to say "one nation under God". What if there is a Muslim. The issue of God and religion does cause problems. It's funny because they all teach a message of peace and they are doing the total opposite saying that its for the glory of God or what ever they believe in. George Bush says he is a Christian and uses the name of God openly yet he does hesitate in sending troops to kill and be killed. Religion is the one thing that will never be understood.

Abolishing God is not a good idea. It would lead to worse problems because it would force believers to go underground. You need to respect others for themselves, not their beliefs. If crimes are committed in the name of God then the offenders should be punished. I don't recall anywhere in the American Justice system that gives people who believe in God special treatment. If it does, then that specific law needs to be addressed.

No, abolishing beliefs and thoughts are as anti-American and anti-constitution as you can get. You can't make laws against what people believe, only against what they do.
People can hate people of other races, they're allowed to feel that way and no law will change that; they are not allowed, however, to don white hoods and burn someone's house down.
You can believe Bush is a terrible president, or the anti-christ; you can't plan to assasinate him.
Belief will never be abolished based on laws, people cannot help what they believe since it comes from their own personal thoughts and experiences and not something they specifically choose.

Where do you get the idea that God promotes hate crimes and gender discrimination? To promote abolishing God seems rather dictatorial, I think.
That is just as bad as forcing religion on someone.....to force everyone around the world to give up their god is harsh.
My answer is NO.
God should not be abolished. Atheism and agnosticism ought not be abolished. To each his own.

There are always going to be differences in how things should be done. It doesn't matter if people make it illegal to believe in a greater power, because then, a year later, there's going to be something new that's going to be the "Root" of all the problems. Having a faith is good, it's healthy even. Not that I'm saying that Atheism is bad and unhealthy, becasue that works for some people. But what about those who are depressed and without hope? When they believe in something, it's proven that their conditions actually improve.
Plus, how are you going to make people stop believing? It's something you do without knowing. You just can't stop it.

they tried that in the USSR, and look what happened.
God doesn't incite religious,racial, and any other gender discrimination, He does not promote hate crimes, people do that, are you going to abolish people?

Amongst the religious, bad people use god to justify their bad behavior, and good people use god to guide their good behavior. I think the spirit of a lot of religions are positive and it's unfortunate that there are also a lot that use it to justify their hatred.
If something were to be banned it should be ignorance and hatred, not god (especially because you can't ban something that isn't tanglible) but that isn't possible.
