You need to contact his child services worker and talk to them about it. They will do some home checks on you and if you qualify they can place him with you. Although, if you are not a foster parent just go for temporary custody with them. They usually try to place the child with a relative.

Yes you can. You need to call the Family Services office in the state that currently has your nephew (In this case, Florida) and ask to speak to the case worker. Tell them that you would like to have the child with you. Most agencies would prefer to place the child in what is called Kinship placement (to have the child be with a relative rather than a complete stranger and maintain thoes family connections).
