What does that mean? I mean, first of all we do not live together, so how does this apply? Second, when we did live together and he still said this, how is his working for us have to do with him having to pay for his rent, even if we were not together he would still have to pay for rent ( of course I put in half of ALL bills ). So what does it mean when a guy says I work for us? Is it just something they hear growing up or just a common thing for a guy to say when argueing ?

Its a way to whine about how put out they are that you don't appreciate them.

I'm just theorizing, but it sounds like the pressure of it. When it comes down to it, most women won't stick around with a guy that doesn't(can't) work. Women even ridicule these men online and on TV all the time. On the other hand, women can be more 'risky' when searching for a job or quitting a job because they know they have something to fall back on. You may even consider taking a few years off work once you have a kid. Of course, I'm speaking about generalities and nothing is 100% in life, but this is more common.

And even though this isn't a reality now, he may still feel the pressure of 'life' when it comes to this. If you really, truely want to complain about this, then go find a guy who isn't compeled to feel like he needs to provide, which is a guy who sits on his a$s all day.

(e.g.---if you're a clean person---> he may help clean, but you may still feel the pressure of the house needing to be cleaned before guests come over).

Good luck, he seems like a good guy, and hard worker.

i guess it means that they are either trying to get back with you or to say that you to live together just to give you things that you never asked 4 but i really don't kno why a guy would say that. Good Luck
