This is a very infamous HOAX perpetuated by christians and has been circulating for years.
The truth is that they took a story about a dig in Russia (circa 1984) where scientists encountered rare rock formations, flows of gas and water, and temperatures up to 180°, turned it into 2000° and then claimed these scientist heard screams of torture from those burning in hell.. the location has been changed at least three times- once to Siberia, once to Finland, and once to Alaska.. it simply isn't true.

Christians, do you understand why you look gullible or foolish when you perpetuate these things?

macguyver, your ignorance of the term "spiritual" is showing.. just because I'm not a christian, doesn't mean I don't follow spiritual path.. honestly, the absolute intolerance of christians is such a turn-off to non-believers.

I thought the well to hell was under the Lutz's (Amityville Horror) staircase leading into their basement.
I think the well to hell made the cover to the national enquirer a couple of times

Several years ago, I heard the same story, but the location was an abandoned farm in Texas (I think -- the guy didn't want to give the "exact" location LOL). They even played a recording of the "screams" coming from the well. Some humans are so gullible. It would be amusing if it weren't for the fact that they can vote and reproduce.

That is one hoax I've never heard before. It's almost as good as finding the missing day of Joshua.

I have heard all about it
and read the web site that sister zeal was putting up all about hell
it actually claims that Hell is " inside " the earth
as the bible claims that the earth is flat and above is heaven and below is hell
it is time to step into the 21st century !

stems from the ancient superstitions, older than the bible, that demonic being dwelt in any body of water, from wells, to rivers, lakes and streams--the Earliest Judeo Christian reference is the demon Kingdom of Zmargados, which was located in a cave on the shore of the red sea

Yeah, and don't forget the massive perfectly shaped cube (heaven) that astronomers supposedly discovered that was speeding toward earth (early 90's). There have been so many I can't count them all. It's the urban myth reborn. Thanks for sharing . I haven't heard this one before. Peace and love>

It must be true, the Grateful Dead sang about it in their song "Saint Stephen."
Wishing well with a golden bell, bucket hanging clear to hell,
Hell halfway twixt now and then,
Stephen fill it up and lower down and lower down again.

What is the current location of Hell, anyway. It was all in my mind last time I visited. Have they started tour groups, yet?

I was so glad when those scientists dug me out of that well; I was sweating terribly! I'm a little hurt, however, that since I left Satan hasn't returned any of my calls. :-(
