Who on earth told you she has rabies? You obviously did not take her to get diagnosed by a vet...because there is NO way to test for rabies unless the animal is dead. You obviously made up this diagnosis yourself!!!!! What exactly are her symptoms? Calm down...it is highly unlikey your cat has rabies (NOT rabis). Maybe if you told us what is going on someone can suggest what might be wrong with her...but the ONLY way she can be diagnosed is by taking her to the vet. email me if you want some help.

How do you know she has rabies? There is no cure for rabies for animals and the only option is to put her down, as for the kittens they would have to be put down as well if you could not afford to test them for the disease. Rabies is very very serious and the cat should be reported to the vet so they know there is a case of rabies and there was obviously a rabid animal that attacked her. PLUS your cat will go nutso and lash out, bite, attack you and any other animal or person it comes into contact with and could very well spread the rabies. If you have been in contact with this cat you and anyone else in your family needs to go to the hospital and get rabies shots asap!!! There is nothing that can be done for the cat/kittens if she has it.

Why are you not able to take her to the vet??? Rabies is a serious thing!! You don't just kill an animal that is cruel. How do you know your cat has rabies? What are the symptoms she is having? If she has rabies then you need to be treated for exposure and anyone else who was or is in contact with your cat.

Rabies WILL kill her, and any other people or animals that she may bite or scratch. How do you know she has rabies? Only a vet can diagnose it, and that's done by dissecting an animal's brain, after it's been put down, obviously. There is no cure, only prevention by vaccination ahead of time. That's why it's required by law. I understand why you hate to put her down, but letting her die from rabies is a much more horrible way for her to go. Either way, get her to a vet before YOU get bitten and need to have the shots-- or before she bites someone else and you get sued. I've had the rabies shots from being bitten by a rabid bat, and they are not fun.

how do you know that is what she has? so far as i know, the only way one can tell if rabies is present is to test the animals brain, therefore it must be dead in order to test.

you really do need to talk to a vet about her. they may make arraignments for you to pay small amounts at a time if that is your concern in not taking her. but she should be seen in any case in order to save the lives of her kittens and her life. POSSIBLY your life too if it were rabies. don't wait. if you really think she is sick, there are so many other things that could be wrong with her that can easily be cured with the right treatment. only the vet will know. rabies is not curable, in fact is very deadly for everyone around this animal especially if anyone is bitten. please take her to the kitty doctor........

if she has rabies you have to kill her or take her to the vet. If she bites someone then the person could get rabies which would be VERY BAD!! Get some milk and try to feed the kittens if you want to keep them. They sell stuff at walmart that you can give the kittens. you can NOT keep a cat that has rabies.

Hm since this is a first ever question I'm not convinced you're not a troll...

If your cat really does have rabies (how do you know?) you have to take her in for your own safety, because if she bites or scratches you then you'll have rabies too, and it's always fatal.

So if this is for real, you'll find a way to take her to a vet because rabies is the worst way to die. Obviously you can't kill her yourself - that's the bit that made me wonder if this question is for real.

First and most important: isolate her from any other animal or human. Rabies can easily spread to other animals and humans through the infected animals' saliva. If she does indeed have rabies, then she will die anyway rather painfully I might add. The most humane thing to do is to have her put down at an appropriate facility such as a vet or an animal shelter. Sorry.

That must be a very tough situation for you and your brother and I don't want to scare you and I love animals and having 4 dogs and 3 cats of my own at home I know what it's like loving your animals and not wanting to part with them.First of all you need to call your local game commission because they need to take care of your cat and it's kittens and rabis are not currable.
Also how did your cat get rabis? It's not like it falls asleep and wakes up with it the next day. It's common in Raccoons.
You need to figure out how your cat got it and they need to take care of it for you.
And yes,I am so sorry to say but they probably are going to have to kill your cat.I am not sure if they will have to kill your kittens though but they may have to as well.
Don't kill your cat yourself, because it's the game commission's job to,and they really need to find the animal that gave your cat rabis because if it bites you or your brother or a neighbor or just anyone or anything they can die.

Best of luck!!

Oh don't be ridiculous. If she had rabies you and your whole family would be in danger of also getting it, since if she came in contact with the slightest break in your skin then you would catch it too. Hydrophobia is highly contagious and you would have to get special shots or die. Besides, by now she would be foaming at the mouth and twitching and attacking.

BUT since your cat is obviously ill, why haven't YOU TAKEN HER TO THE VET?!!!! What is the matter with you? It is her RIGHT BY LAW to receive proper medical care and to deny it, especially when she has given birth, is abuse!

Stop wasting time on the computer and get off your butt and get that cat and her babies to the vet! Call them and describe the symptoms. If a regular vet can't get her in today, then call an emergency vet and get them in. Stop wasting time. She is ill and suffering. And furthermore, she may pass it to the babies in her milk.

And don't whine and snivel that you can't afford it. If you can afford a pizza or a cellphone or new shoes, you can afford to get her decent care. If you can't properly care for your pets, then you have no right to have them. That is responsible pet ownership. Animal Control also enforces that because if animals are denied medical care, they can take them from the owner when authorized.

Now MOVE!
