You may need some counselling before this can happen. I've been in a very similar situation and have come out the other side....there is light at the end of the tunnel. You need to come to terms with the things in your past which are affecting you're life. You have to deal with them....if you push them to the back of your mind....you won't be able to progress with your life....confront them in every sense....if you don't know how to....you may not be ready....see someone who can help. Once you've let it out and dealt with it....you will be able to move on, and find some new hobbies and activities that you enjoy.

I have the same problem. This is the 1st time I've ever heard of someone else doing it. I have never discussed this with my counselor. Though, I'm not sure to what depth you are doing this.My counselor just recommended this book to me. I don't know how good it is. As I have not read it yet. However, it may help.

It is named, Courage To Heal.

She recommended this to me for other reasons. However, it's worth looking into. Also, counseling is a good idea. I just hope you are able to be more open about this than I am. If you want to talk privately with me about our situations. E mail me. I would be open to this, because we are both going through similar things. Also, I don't know you.

Edit: I have a theory. I think possibly, Victims do this to try to make it seem like they wanted it, in their minds, so it will ease the pain and other feelings associated with it. Although in reality, we are putting ourselves through it all over again. What do you think?

Read the 'courage to heal' by Ellen Bass and Laura Davis. It has a whole section on your question and the whole book should genereally help you. It's helped me SO much. I was molested too for 10 years of my child hood and I can finally stop victimizing myself and move on with my life.

Also if you're not already in therapy I would really suggest it because they're professionals and can help you more then any book can.

It seems you have just started the long journey by talking. Talk, talk, talk to anyone that will listen. You are here so your status has officially been changed from victim to survivor. Congratulations!

Good luck and take care of you!

Have you been to Counseling? It might be the only way to help you work it out- & over with. Life goes on, and so should YOU. Good luck.

Realize it was'nt your fault that you were molested, it was the person that did that to you fault and don't worry about it. Get your mind off of the past so that you can enjoy your future.
