Why does any strong believer of any religion try & force their beliefs on people? It's because they believe something so strongly they think you should believe it too!
Humans are quite narrow minded, & alot of us are followers, 'he said this so it's true'
People lack ideas & imagination, that's why creative people are so successful (movie makers & such) Also people who create religion, cos it's all man made, have these ideas of how life should be & are so creative with it, they get their followers to not only believe their stories but to teach it to their children & keep it going forever.....it's all very very clever!
We should all wake up, but it's easier for most, to just believe!
THERE IS NO TRUE RELIGION....ONLY BLIND FAITH.

Hi,
Sorry to say that you are mistaken about the teachings of Jesus. At least he doesn't condone strapping a bomb belt to your waist to kill innocent people. Islam teaches conform or die mentality. Besides Jesus did say not all those saying Lord Lord will enter the Kingdom of Heaven, so your question doesn't really hold water does it? Jesus knew way ahead of time there would be people that abused his teachings.... don't be one of them! Also, Jesus was from the middle East.... not Europe, so true Christ Teachings didn't come from Europe, they came from God...Jesus is known as the "WORD"! That would be God's WORD, just so you aren't so judgmental as to the facts. Also, you should be happy that someone is trying to stop you from stepping head long into a coming freight train..... that's why Christians are trying to help you. Jesus said "go, make disciples of all the people of the earth".... I do believe that would include you too, unless you are from some other planet? I doubt that though. So in the meantime try to have a great day, and don't be so hard on your brothers and sisters that are trying to save you from destruction. Also, God doesn't force anyone to do anything they don't want to do. You have every right to prance along the broad road leading off into destruction if you chose. And pay no attention to the warning signs that all those crazy Christians are trying to point out to you. You'd think they heard it from God or something they way they carry on. I for one will heed the warning signs.

Christians can't force anything on you. They are not holding a gun to your head. They are only excited about their belief and are taught to spread the word of God and Jesus to the whole world. Some peoples have had Christianity imposed upon them by well intended men. They wished to reform others to a better way of thinking. If they did not care, they would have not tried and allowed them to remain unevolved.
If you were taught to be a Catholic then you are informed and if you make a choice to turn away from God, that is on you.
Don't wait until it is too late to turn back. Sorry, I have to say that because it is what I believe and I do care about everyone.
The teachings of Christ are a better way than relying on a tree or a totem animal to guide me.

Actually, christianity comes from the Middle East, genius, and it spread across the world , first with St. Paul and many others later. My ancestors probably believed in Leprechauns, and other sorts of spirits, until St. Patrick brought it to Ireland. I don't force my religion on other people, I just wonder why they don't believe. Go and learn what your talking about, because its obvious you don't even know the true origins of Christianity.

First of all, not all Christians try to force their beliefs on people. St. Francis of Assisi said to preach the gospel always, but to use words only when necessary. My interpretation of the words of Jesus is that we are to preach by example, not by words. Yes, some Christians do a lot of preaching to people to believe, but I have found just as many atheists who try to convince me not to believe in my God. The bottom line is that no one can force anyone to believe in something that they are unready or unwilling to believe in.
As for the thing about hypocrisy, I try to live my faith and the words of St. Francis, but, being an imperfect human, I mess up quite frequently. That is not any different than anyone who is practicing any other religion - or, for that matter, someone who is not practicing any formal religion. Everyone has their set of ideals - what is necessary to be a perfect person. No one lives up to those ideals all the time. Thus, we Christians are no more hypocritical than you "free thinkers" - we just get more criticism for not being perfect.
As far as Christianity being a European creation, it seems to me that the first apostles were from the Middle East, not Europe. In fact, in the early days of the church, the Europeans, the Romans, to be exact, were arresting, torturing and beheading Christians. The head of the Catholic Church today may be in Europe, but Christianity comes to the world through us from God, not from any physical location on earth.
As for Christianity forcing European culture on minorities, you need only to travel to other places to see that people have incorporated Christianity into their cultures without fully giving up their culture. The basic rules of Christianity, the 10 commandments, are found in one form or another in almost every culture on earth. There were people who did force their religion on minorities over the years. However, it is wrong to accuse all Christians of this. I, for one, have never forced my religion on any minority, nor do I know of anyone who has. For every Christian guilty of this sin, there are probably millions who are innocent. What you are doing is the equivalent of me saying that because your ancestors are Latino and African that you believe in human sacrifice and carrying around shrunken heads, since some of your ancestors probably took part in those activities. I have a strong feeling that you have never even considered those activities, as I have never considered conquering a race of people to force them to become Christians.
In all of your "free thinking" you are actually quite ignorant because you have neglected to research your topic. Before making accusations, you should do some research so that you actually know what you are talking about. Anyone can "free think" anything, but that doesn't make it true.
My heart goes out to you. You are so bitter towards Christianity that I can only assume something terrible has happened to you to create in you such hostile feelings. I hope that some day you will be able to let go of your hostility toward us, and accept us, just as most Christians that I know would accept you, no matter what you believe.
By the way, I, too, consider myself a free thinker. I was raised Catholic, but was a bitter atheist for quite a few years. Once I let go of my bitterness, my free thinking led me back to God and the church.

They only way that Christianity (and some other religions) truly succeed is through what is know as "mass hallucination". When everyone believes the same then there is no doubt. I'm sure I'll take some flack for that statement, but what the hell....according to some, I'm going there anyway. As far as Hell is concerned been there, done that. It was just a past life. Guess that makes me re-born, too!

Muslims Kill, or teach thier religion by the sword- That is what is behind the radical Muslims Jihad... That is why they call Christians and Jews Infadels, and is thier doctrine to kill all who will not believe. You have more of a problem with a Christian who's job is to share the word, and leave it at that?

They are victims of brainwashing. Been there. They really believe that they have to keep everyone they can from going to hell. I still suffer this from my family. My mom is a minister (fundie). When I woke up I was in shock at the things I had believed, lived and messed up my children with. I'm still trying to get them straightened out. Fear has such a grip on them from the Christian way. I am slowly making progress with them. Let the sleepers awaken! Peace and love>

How are you being "forced"? Are they expressing what they believe just as you are?
Just a note ... But in Latin America and Africa is where Christianity is booming right now!
