Thinking of drivinng through Europe and the end of a work experience, and thought could take the train, but then i looked into second hand cars, and they are proving to be pretty cheap, for an old alfa or lancia or anything.

Make sure you have insurance.

If you are planning to keep the car in the UK, then you will need to convert the headlights to point the other way, get an MOT, and register the car with the DVLA.

You probably won't get much (any?) money for a left-hand drive old second hand car in the UK. So don't assume you will be able to make any money on the deal.

Be careful. Whatever you do don't give any money until you're actually going to drive away with the car, they'll change the tires, swap the engine, change stereos....

I have heard it said that the insurance on a LHD car is DOUBLE that of a RHD if it is your intention to drive in UK
