I understand the obvious answer is a dealer, but the problem I've been having is that they want too much for the SKS (like $300). A good surplus SKS should cost no more than $150.

"I don't know what color the sky is in your world but sks's havent sold for $175.00 for several year's. If they had, you would have one. Right?"

Prices vary from region to region and I wasn't interested in buying an SKS a few years ago.

Well, the young ladies answer above mine is not correct. I will post several links to places where you, a "law abiding" American can legally purchase and legally possess an SKS. I will also post a link to a web site that is dedicated to the SKS rifle. You still have rights as an American. The first link is to an on-line auction site where you can bid on hundreds of rifles. The next few links will be actual stores with set prices. All of these site will require you to have the firearm shipped to a FFL dealer. Such as a local sporting goods store or pawn shop / gun shop. The on-line auction site has a list that you can choose from. The Federally required paperwork will be completed at the FFL dealer. Most charge something like $20 for the service. Good luck to you. I'm glad you want to express your constitutional right to own a firearm. God bless you. Miketyson26

I don't know what color the sky is in your world but sks's havent sold for $175.00 for several year's. If they had, you would have one. Right? The last one I had sold for $235.00 at a gun show three year's ago. You cant buy one on the Internet. Only Dealer's can. If you find one you can buy I would want to go get it in person. I would not send money to a non dealer. It could be a sting or a scam. The money is gone and you don't have a rifle. Worst case. You are arrested for attempting to purchase a weapon Illegally.

Look in the phone book and find a gun shop. Even if you buy a rifle on the internet, it still has to be shipped to a gun dealer, where you will have to get a background check and fill out the paperwork before you can pick it up.

Willy: Your answer has nothing to do with his question. And you have no facts to support your arguement. Stay on topic.

While you can certainly shop for one on the Internet you're going to have to take delivery through a licensed dealer anyway so why not start there?
