Well - if you move way far out in one of the boroughs then you could get a nice 2 bedroom for about 2 grand a month ($2,000) and then you would have to pay high rate for heat and other utilities so you are talking about $1,200 for utilities and then you most likely will have to pay to park and that runs about $800 a month way out there. And you mostly can't drive anywhere as there is no where to park when you get there. And - to top that off, it is almost impossible to never have roaches in a place with that many houses so close together and they are called la coucaracha as they are big enough to carry off your sandwich when you set it down - = some get to 3 inches long.

But - and this is the best part. NYC is the very very very best place in the world and costs less than a lot of other cities. NYC rocks 24 hours a day and has more to do that most every other city in this country combined. NYC is all that and a crate of chips.

In Manhathan is about $3000 and higher for about 1000 sq. I am not sure about the utilities, and some buildings have monthly fees as well. I wouldn't leave outside of Manhathan because all the action is in Manhathan and you don't have to mess with parking, or travelling 2-3 hours each day to get to your apartment. Grocery stores may pay about $20-$25 per hour.

I pay 1,200 dollars per month for a two bedroom apartment in a private house!
It is in a good neighborhood in Queens!

WORKING IN A GROCERY STORE IS NOT GOING TO BE 21.50.

I pay $1,250 for a one bedroom in the Bronx. It depends on the borough Manhattan you're looking at about $2,500 and up and that's going to be the most expensive borough. I don't think working at a grocery store people make that much though.
