Yes .. you MUST get the actual Notice of Redundancy which will specify the Date on which your Job is made Redundant.
Once you Job is Redundant there is the question of your Notice Period. Plainly they can't expect you to carry on working, since they just said the Job no loger exists = so most places will pay 'money in lieu' of Notice & your last day = Redundancy Date.
However they CAN ask you to work your Notice period = but ONLY be to hand over records etc. or maybe to train some-one else in some minor parts of your job that has not been made redundant = and they must allow you 'reasonable' time off for job searching and interviews etc. Most Companies will allow you to leave if you find a new Job during this period (and a lot will still pay the rest of your Notice money).
But if you start a new Job BEFORE getting the official Redundancy Notice, and thus before your Job has been declared Redundant, you will lose any Redundancy payment.

Well, assuming that the notice that the employer has to give you is the same as you have to give the employer (which is usually the case) this must mean that you gave your notice to leave before you were officially given notice of redundancy, so yes, you won't be eligible for a redundancy payment as the reason your contract was terminated was your resignation, not redundancy.

Although being made redundant is a horrible feeling and the instinct is to find something else, you have in fact negated all your rights to any redundancy payment.

Yes you have to still be in their employment on the last day of your redundancy notice or you forfeit all redundancy payouts

Yes - you 'jumped the gun' and as a consequence won't get a redundancy payment - considerable body of case-law on the subject.
