Why has this quite affective pain killer been taken off the
prescription list? Is it purely political to save money and
further reduce our medication to second best?
paracetamol alone is o.k for headaches, but little else!

Nope I found out the answer to this as I was on it and asked my pharmacist.

It has been taken off the list of medicines because ppl have become addicted to it. Thing that tickles me is what they now give me instead actually makes me quite high when I take it and feels far more addictive than Co-proximal which just used to get rid of the pain without the high I get now.

Go figure.....

Ask your doctor for a prescription for DF118 - Paracetamol and dihydrocodeine. You'll find that an effective pain-killer.

the therapeutic dose (the dose that is most effective) Is almost the same level as the dose that can damage the liver. coproxamol contains paracetamol. a cheaper but effective alterative is co-codamol 30/500

Apparently its to do with suicide rates and people using co proxomol to commit suicide.
