All i know is that HD is high def and LCD
is liquid crystal something but i dont know the difference between the picture

OK as you said HD stands for High Def, but at present HD is built into LCD and PLASMA TVs.

HD is a way of viewing TV but LCD is the type of TV.

HD means high definition, so you will get a super sharp clear picture. LCD means liquid crystal display - it's just what the screen is made of, like on laptops - the way you can tell if it is a LCD screen is if you touch it, you can see it in the screen. LCD doesn't really make the picture that much different - maybe a little bit clearer, but not lots!
