stopped teaching their children about their beliefs and let them choose for themselves when they were 16 years old. How long to do you think it would take this planet to rid itself of this sick, sad mental delusion called religion?

People do choose for themselves that is why there are many religious adults.
You cannot get rid of spirituality because that is God given to each human even you but you have supressed it or filled the desire with other things such as you put your faith in men.
Every civilization known on earth no matter how remote are spiritually aware of greater powers than themselves.
This shows that it was not man who created spirituality because we are born with spiritual minds.

If you personally do not believe in that this is by God or even possibly any deity then maybe you are fighting against evolution which you put faith in.

I am happy that I had a change to experience God in my life the first 16 years. I will certainly hope my future children would be having the same change.

I am not into religions either. Jesus is the way.

I don't think it would get rid of religion, but it would create a more authentic real passion for what people believe. Religion would be real and exciting again and not just repetion of what older generations have done.

Probably in 2 generations...80 years all people would be dead.

We would never get rid of it, because just like we have many religions now, mankind needs to have purpose so if it doesn't have one, it will invent one.

I think "something else" would fill the void. It wouldn't be Christian and it wouldn't be Islam, but it would be ... something. It might be similar to healing crystals or scientology.

People seem to need mysticism. I don't understand it either :(

You are right religion is sad and sick, not only that it is man made and NOT OF GOD. God is about having a personal relationship with. He hates religion. Religion is DECEPTIVE AND DEAD!

Your thinking is giving me a headache...LOL. Okay, I thought about your question....and, I don't think it would abolish religion. Too much "spiritual" stuff happens for it to go away. Agree?
