My niece is 11 and she started dating this 16yo. I like him. My uncle is furious! Whats the problem?

My opinion. She actually works. She works on my other uncle's farm as well as delivers newspapers. She also works 6 hours a week at a Pizza Shop just filling sodas and taking out the trash as well as running errands like buying things and bringing them back. That is legal by the way in our state. Anyway, she is real responsible and also purchases Savings Bonds with her money. She never spends it on herself or others. She just saves it. So.... if a 16yo guy wants to date her, whats the problem? My uncle wants to kick this guys butt. I mean, she is going into 6th grade and he's going into 11th. I mean, if he can deal with the ridicule from his peers and the general public because he really cares about her, I say its worth giving it a try.

As to all that may be worried about her having sex well, she may. I mean, techinically, its none of anyone's business what they do in the bedroom. You know?

Yes, she has had her period. Also, I left out that they have known each other for 4 years. They have been growing up together. They used to do everything together and they still do. She started to, um, blossom, so he decided maybe they should date. Yes, I know they already kissed because she told me. They haven't done anything else. He is immature so I dount they will but you never know. Once again, it is none of my business.

First of all she is a child...11...she should not be working yet she needs to be enjoying being a kid. No 11 year old should be dating some guy who can drive. She is not even a teenager she should not be thinking about dating yet she should still be playing with barbies! lol. This is why the majority of kids today are screwed up because parents let things like this happen and are too scared to do anything about it. If they really "care" about each other then the boy can wait until she is at least 16/17 years old. She is too young right now to be hanging out with a boy that age. I agree with the uncle kick that boys butt to the curb and tell him to come back in about 5 years. Lets just add to the abortion ratio....I mean what is an 11 year old gonna do if she gets pregnant?? Kill a child like everyone else in the world today because they rather have fun then accept resposibility. Let her get pregnant and see how responsible she is. an 11 yr old is way way way too young to be having sex with anyone and she is also way to young to be making any kinds of decisions on her own about such issues. A sixteen yr old boy is not her peer and they should not be alone together. He is far too old for her. She is a child and he is a teenaged boy and that's an unsafe combination. She needs to have adults ho care for her and understand her and can educate her and be on her side when it comes to understanding that she is not old enough for such a relationship. It doesn't amtter how nice they are or how good a guy he is or how long they have known each other. 11 yrs old is too young to be sexually active. If you don't know that, then find an adult who you trust who can talk with you and her about it. And under all circumstances, she should obviously use birth control even if there is the slightest chance that she will be sexually active. An 11 yr old can become pregnant just like anyone else and she is so young to have a baby. It would be very sad for all.

Your niece is so young. This boy needs some help. I dont care how long he's known her, he needs to wait till she is alot older. Of course the boy had noticed she's blossomed and appears older. That's just it. She looks older on the outside but on the inside she is mentally not at that level as the 16yr old. I dont blame the dad for being mad. Any parent would. your uncle should kick his butt. even if they know each other and she does all those little jobs...she is not mature enough to understand what could happen if she has sex. she's 11!!!!!! she has her whole life ahead of her...she doesn't need to get pregnant because her parents or you (possibly) could end up taking care of the baby and she shouldn't drop out of school. your not helping the situation by allowing this. so start thinking like an adult and stop this before she has to grow up too fast.

also it is your business what she does in the bedroom. she's 11 and with a 16 year old. if she get's pregnant the 16 year old guy may leave because he knew he could get with her. your not a guy so you don't know what they think but your uncle does so let him do what he wants to do.

Having a savings account does NOT mean you can make responsible choices about sex. Especially not when you're still 11. This 16 year old boy is sick. And if he starts pressuring her to become more physical than she wants to be (which is extremely common with relationships between older men and underage girls), then at 11 years old she is probably going to be too insecure or intimidated by him to say no. I say let the uncle kick this boy's ***. He deserves it.

The problem is that he's nearly a man and she is still a child, and no matter how mature she seems and how immature he seems, it's still way too much of an age difference at that age. I cannot understand what they would have in common. I don't blame your uncle for being upset and I think you need to stay out of it. A 16 year old is much too old for an 11 year old no matter how responsible she is. If it's true love, he can wait 7 years for her to grow up. In a normal high school an 11th grader dating a 6th grader would be mercilessly ridiculed.
