had sex until they were married. I thought that was admirable. I am sure a large percentage of married couples wish that was true of them. Both the man and woman went on to say that they never even kissed until their wedding day. Neither the boy or girl had ever kissed a person until their married day. Now that is true abstenance. You say you can't prevent teenage pregnancies and teenage abortions? There are some out there that will say you are wrong because they defied the odds and held out even to the point of no kissing. I wish I had waited until my wedding day before I kissed and married a good christian girl the first time I got married. Maybe it wouldn't have taken me 2 marriages to finally get it right. What are your thoughts on this abstenance and no kissing?

Thank you for sharing.

This is a lovely story.

I think the only problem is, with teaching abstinance, parents don't want to practice what they preach. They think they are adults so they want to go out and mess around and have dates sleep over, while they expect their teens to remain chaste.

Kids learn best by example.

Sex is easy. People have sex with those they hate. In order to have a sound marriage you have to have a foundation of friendship and communication. Not sex.

Well, both my hubby and I were virgins when we got married. I had kissed other guys, but he had never kissed a girl besides me. We didn't wait until we were married to kiss, but that was all we did. It is hard to not be intimate with a person you know you love, and that loves you back, but it's well worth it!!

I never have to worry about getting a disease from him, and the same with him. We don't have to worry about bringing a child into the world that won't have both parents. Since we have only slept with each other, we learn together and I think it's more comfortable that way, and easier to laugh at when things go funny. Since I've only ever been with him, I don't need to compare him to others, or have him wonder if he's doing things "right". And since we had never done anything with anyone else, we didn't know what we liked and didn't like, so we have learned that with each other.

It is totally unrealistic to remain a virgin until marriage and promotes and forces young people to get married at far too young an age. People who get married very young 18 -25 have an extremely high marriage breakdown and divorce rate. In communities where young people are forced to remain abstinent until getting married a lot of young people simply end up getting married so they can have sex with the one they think they love then find out in short order that they were too young to get married in the first place and only were really interested in having sex.

I have seen it time and time again young people being forced to marry because of this belief and then finding out with in a number of short years that they were too young to really decide who was an appropriate life partner for them.

It damages people to the core and creates wounded souls who are forced to suffer through divorces and often their young children as well. Or the alternate scenario is even worse people because they are told they must stay married, living in loveless, broken marriages for the sake of their children.

Teaching and educating children to not have sex as teenagers and waiting until they are both mentally and emotionally ready to take on the responsiblities and rewards of sexual activity is a much better way to go for all concerned.
And for those who say it's impossible it's not, I have seen it work wonders with many children, including myself when I was growing up.

Teaching children that it is an emotional commitment as well as a physical one is much more affective for young people than simply making it a "sin" or something forbidden. There is no faster way to get a teenager to do something then to tell them it is "forbidden".

Which country are you from? In my India this is how it is in say 6 out of ten weddings. The boy and girl will be virgins. In some cases they talk to each other but never have sex till they get married.

It is ideal. There's really no need for the rushing into things.
Even non-believers, if they happen to follow the teachings of God will have happier, more stable, and less problems, in this side of life. It 's just that way.How can anyone go wrong by doing right?

I totally agree with that couple, I believe that your aren't supose to kiss or have sex until your married, I'm 16 and so far I've made it, that's my goal, to make it to marriage totally pure. ( even without kissing)

GOD is always Right with it comes to Getting Blessed.
To have a Blessed Marriage, just follow What GOD Said.

What's admirable about wanting to spend your life with someone when you have absolutely no idea whether you're sexually compatible?

That sounds koo-koo to me.
