i have to say that i would expect someone who calls themself a christian to be as christ like as possible - and yet there seem many YA contributors who choose christainity as a "side" or "team" and do not sound at all like Christians at all.. or is the Christ they follow a stubborn hypocrite?

Not all Christians are hypocritical. I try not to be and to be as accepting of other peoples beliefs and opinions as I can. It is hard not to get a little upset though when others are being judgemental of Christians and saying they are all hypocrites. But on the other side I have seen many questions and answers that are judgemental. As Christians we are supposed to love one another and I think a lot of people are forgetting that. Just because someone doesn't share your belief doesn't mean you have to just automatically say your wrong, Im right, you're going to hell and im going to heaven.

You are right to point that out for us.

Too many times, Christians take the passion of their faith to an extreme and become quite defensive. It is if we have to protect our "choice" of religion. Well, we DON'T need to defend being Christians, we already know that we are loved and made the right choice in Jesus. The opinions of others, especially strangers on the internet, should not upset our devotion to Christ.
I know that it is hard to pass up an opportunity to "set someone straight" when they don't see things our way. But when it comes to faith, it is more of a choice by what we feel and experience...not by what someone yells at us, or by being called names for thinking differently.
As challenging as it may seem and as long as it may take, we should strive to set a "peaceful" example of what Christianity is really about. We could easily serve God and therefore serve the non-beleiver by escorting them into the light, not shoving them. Take your time and pray about what you do and say to bring others to Christ.

You will be taken more serious and get closer attention when you speak respectfully and in a civil tone. Sure it takes longer, but do you really expect to change a person's whole life perspective in a short time by yelling or arguing?

Do you have any idea what a Christian sounds like? Do you know what it is to be Christ like? What ,I did not know Christianity was a side or team? John 17. Jesus prayed that we all be as one,as he and the Father are one.

Man takes the word of God; an attempt. But know one has it exactly right on the mark...no matter how he or she studies. Even if you have a PHD. It takes a relationship with Christ. If nothing ever bad happens how do you know he can solve it?
If one never pray how do you know he answers prayer....? I would say you are bigoted? ___Unreasonably prejudiced and intolerant!

John 10:11-18 (link below), explains the true meaning of Christ to me. Also note that there are some in a different pen that know his voice as well and he knows them. It also mentions the hired hands that will abandon their flocks. To me it is clear no matter what your beliefs live as Jesus has done. Be willing to lay down your life in order to protect others. This is the greatest example of Love.

Christians should strive constantly to be more Christlike. Sometimes we forget that and our humanness shows, but good Christians do try hard.

do you feel threatened by us? we haven't done anything to you. in your question you choose words of aggression and hatred. i'm not just talking about religion anymore but why do you feel the need to argue and disturb the peace. what are you talking about?i didn't not say anything whatsoever about your faith. i was talking about you. and your last line there doesn't make sense
