Contrary to a previous answer, there is nothing in law preventing the Prime Minister being a Roman Catholic. At present only the Monarch is required to be a communicating member of the Church of England.
It will neither be a big deal, nor a surprise if the Prime Minister becomes a Roman Catholic. His wife and four children are already and Mr Blair is an Anglo-Catholic member of the Church of England. Becoming a Roman Catholic will mean that he will be able to fully participate in the family worship he attends with his wife and children.

No idea. If he is an Anglican and an Anglo-Catholic, then the only difference in Roman Catholicism is that the Pope is the head of the Church.
In England the Head of the Church and the Head of State has been the same person since Henry VIII divorced Catherine of Aragon, which doesn't add up to a secularist government.
If he wants to change, then why did he wait? Disraeli was Jewish, and even our buddies across the Pond have had a Roman Catholic president - JFK.
Just read Raymo's answer and something occurred to me. If he becomes a Roman Catholic he can make a personal confession instead of simply the general confession which is normal in the Anglican Church. Maybe he's got a lot on his conscience.

From the man that gave you "Weapons of Mass Destruction ...that could be deployed in 45 minutes." we now have 'Dead people rising from the grave' and the great bearded man in the sky.

Just how deluded is Tony Blair?

This shows he is not fit to run a bath, let alone a country.

After all, to quote Christopher Hitchens, "It's as if the Inquisition had a thermonuclear capacity."

It's because Britain is a Protestant Country (I know that there are many people wilt different religions in Britain, but it is a Protestant country.) Previously there has been a lot of trouble in the past over the religion of the ruler of Britain. The Civil War was partly caused by the King Charles' Catholicism. I know that Blair is not the King, but he still is in charge (kind of) of the country, which is what Charles was before he lost his power to Parliament.

He has got some nerve if he becomes a Catholic, and the Catholic Church would lose my respect . Blair has introduced measures which are against teaching, such as the repeal of section 28, and his support for homosexuals. This is against all the Church stands for, and unless he repents, he is not welcome. In my opinion (which you may say is not worth much) his wife has also gone against teaching, and the Church is wrong in allowing her in. And , yes, the Church is exclusive. Ever heard of excommunication ?

It is against the law for a PM to be Catholic. This became a law after the bomb plot with Guy Falwkes ( how was a Catholic). It is not a law that would be inforced today but Blair will be the first ever Catholic PM. I may be wrong it is not something i am really interested in.

I'm surprised he is a Christian at all. He claims to be such a believing Christian but then goes out of his way to make war. Someone should remind Tony Blair that the bible says 'Thou shall not kill' and not 'Thou shall not kill unless in wars'. The lil war-monger.

Because many of his actions have not been in keeping with Catholic dogma. Not being interested why do you ask the question?

It amazes me that anyone so intelligent could even consider joining an organisation that is spiritually, morally and financially corrupt. I suppose financially is a bit harsh as I understand they did pay back the people who lost money in the fiddle the Vatican bank was involved in several years ago
