An excess amount of fiber will cause bloating and gas, not to mention numerous trips to the bathroom! But remember, you must drink plenty of water with your fiber or the bloating and gas can result even if your fiber intake is within the daily
recommended range (20 - 35 grams daily). (The water is needed to move the fiber through your intestines, which are approximately 28 feet in length!)

When you are choosing which type of fiber, there are two kinds: Insoluble fiber, which adds bulk to your stool and helps to prevent constipation. Soluble fiber binds to fat in the intestines and keep some fat from being absorbed. When you add more soluble fiber to your diet, it lowers blood levels of the plaque-forming LDL cholesterol.

Here is a report from Harvard School of Public Health that more fully describes fiber intake:

No. U body will tell u that u have had enough.

Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.

Fiber is indigestible. So basically it passes through your body without really being absorbed, and then comes out. If you eat too much of it, you will probably just need to go to the bathroom a lot, but it shouldn't be harmful. There is no need to consume more than 35 grams a day though.

Yes! You'll be able to tell though if your fingers and toes start to look like little twigs. That's because, eventually, they start to convert to wood ... not good! Next thing you know ... you've got termites ... very bad! Then you're going to have to get the Orkin man take care of your bugs. Did you know that ants wear their skeletons on the outside of their bodies? Who says that you can't learn anything from watching television?

Fiber is a great way to fill yourself up in a healthy manner. Your body will tell you if you've had enough when you get diarrhea.
