I'm going to San Francisco in August. I was wondering two things:
+What should I wear on the plane?
+What types of clothes should I pack for five days there?

I will be departing from MKE in Milwaukee. I want to be able to be comfortable in my clothes for Wisconsin, the plane, +San Francisco.
Also, since I will be traveling to San Francisco in August, will it be mid-60s ish? Or am I way off?

Thanks so much!

San Francisco in August is not hot but it is warm. Figure the mid 70s and you might get lucky and have a day or two in the very low 80s. At night I would have a light jacket or sweeter, but that is it. Most people don't need anything extra at all.

Wear something comfortable on the plane, and shoes that can easily be taken on and off. I would bring a couple of pairs of shorts, some jeans and a couple of nice things to wear at night. San Francisco is full of nice restaurants and clubs. Don't worry if you forget something, just head to Union Square and you can find anything you need. It's full of top department stores and the best clothing shops this side of 5th avenue.

I'd wear something comfortable on the plane. The average high in August in San Francisco is 72 and the average low is 52. So, I'd bring a jacket on the plane and just wear something like jeans and a t-shirt.

Have fun!

Pack as little as possible. You might have more to bring back. Clothes and things are always a good memento of where you've been. Wear something comfortable for the trip making sure you have some sort of jacket for your trip as it can tend to be cold and uninviting at the taxi rank.

For the plane, always wear pants and closed in shoes. if something happens and you need to use the emergency slides to get off the plane, you will get horrible burn marks from the rubber.
