Or because the building is called a church so then that is the place to go?

I must first humbly disagree with the majority of people answering. We must continuously search to prove that what we are being taught is from God's word and not man (2Thess. 2:13) In order to prove your faith or what you believe is correct you have to get to "know thee only true God and Jesus Christ"(John 17:3) If we do that then we can surley hope to find enlightenment through His teachings.

Secondly, the church today has truly misrepresented God and his holiness. That is why I can truly understand a person wanting to serve God as he or she sees fit in his home and not in some old building. But is that how we should feel? Well the bible tells us not to go on "forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some" (John 10:25) It is the assembling of ourselves that constitutes the church and not the building (though a building is nice because I'd hate to get rained on in the middle of prayer) So when we gather together we are to encourage and upbuild one another.

There are a group of people in your home town that have searched and found their faith and can prove it. They don't forsake the gathering of themselves as some have the custom to do and they seek to attain the knowledge of the only true God and the one whom he sent forth Jesus Christ and when doing this they carry out the commission given to them by Jesus in Matthew 28:19,20 " Go ye therfore, and teach all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and the holy ghost: Teaching them to observe all the things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, [even] until the end of time. (Strongs KJV)

Only Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. And yes, I've searched, asked questions and investigated.
Affiliating yourself with a Denomination of Christianity - as any true Christian will tell you - is nothing to do with your salvation. It is simply the call of God where you should be placed while in this world.
The "Church" according to scripture - is US, not a denomination.
Denominations were developed over the years as a means of interpretation of scripture. There have been wars fought over it, mass killings, etc. everyone is familiar with these atrocities. They are not of God.
Buildings are not "the Church" they are buildings. The Church, is us- it is a place of being within our hearts. Intertwined with each other and headed by Jesus.
simple as that.
And the sooner Christians of ALL denominations realize this, the better off we all will be.

blessings :)

We go to "Showers of Blessings"! It is a Spirit Filled Church with a Pastor that is NOT afraid to talk of Hell, Abortion, Homosexuality or Anything Else.

I do not feel that We or I have to 'prove' ourselves to Anyone but Jesus!

I just Pray Everyday for the Lord to guide Everything that I do say, speak of, or write! I am a Non-Fiction Christian Writer as a profession on my computer. We have MS Office Professional that we are running right now - soon it will be Office Pro 2007! I truly look forward to that!

Be at Peace - Glorify God in His Grace!

Take Care and God Bless!

You know what? I don't search and prove. I used to, I thought that was my way of showing God that I am faithful and want to shine in the light of His glory. You have to pray, sincerely pray. God will give you the peace of mind that what you are doing is right. Read the Bible, a good one, like NIV. Read it everyday, and really let the words and meanings sink into your sould. The first Christian churches had no denominations, they helped eachother in every way and just worshipped together. Read the book of Acts for starters. It's very well describes churches, and what they should be and what they should mean to us. Most of all, just believe that Jesus is your Saviour, and try and follow in His ways....you will be fine.

It think one of the best ways to not be deceived is to use both your mind and heart in your search for truth. I continue to do this and I've discovered that the Church of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth after many years of apostasy. It has apostles and prophets and continuing revelation, just as in the original organization.

Many people have understandably come to the conclusion that denominations are just people's different views of truth. In most cases that's true.

However, God continues to speak to us directly and through prophets He calls to further His work, which is to help each of us reach our divine potential.

My denomination is non-denominational iterdenominational Apostolic Pentecosta Charismatic Restoration Reformation Full Gospel.......It would take forever to prove anything.

My only need is to defend the Gospel of Jesus Christ and to proclaim His message,in league with His many membered body(the church of Jesus Christ)....I belong to one segment of the whole, in the building where we gather and that I worship and listen to the Word of God.

(((BIG HUG, FOR DR. G.))).....and (((Ramjet,Wayne)))....who else is here?....is there a party that I wasn't invited too?

I have no denomination, I am a "Red-Letter Christian" - I follow only the words of Jesus. (And, yes the Holy Spirit visits me just fine and witnesses that I will go to Heaven.)

However, I have found no "Church" or denomination that follows only Jesus. (Most of the churches I have attended follow other interpretations of Jesus' mission and message written by other authors of the Bible.)

I've done that all my life and found one that appears to have led me to full surrender and repentance to Jesus. As a consolation prize, I received the gift of the Holy Ghost and now am a newborn child of God. Thank you Jesus!

Although the Christian world sees us as Apostolic Pentecostal, we follow and adhere to Christ and His teachings according to His Word.

EDIT: Oh hello Uncle & Bonsai, Good day my friends! {{{HUGS}}}

No, I know that only Jesus Christ is the one true church.
Humans are flawed, even the most well-intentioned ones.
Therefore you WILL find flaws in doctrine, establishment, or in rituals.

Jesus Christ is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, & THE LIFE...period.
All else is flawed.

That is why I look to Jesus Christ, not a denomination.
