The subject is way too complex for a quick answer here. For a point of view you may not have looked at, I recommend the link below.

My thoughts are that it won't be for a very long time. I used to think it was at 2000, or thereabouts. What happens when the end of the world does not come in 2012 or 2050? I believe we can know the year, just not the day or hour.
This book teaches about the history of mankind from the beginning through the end of earth history, including Christ's return and the Millennium. It is very enlightening:

custom. however a pretend "christ" has and is rapturing the church into apostasy in the previous the super tribulation has even began. 2 Th 2:3 permit no one in any way misinform you, for it won't come until eventually the apostasy comes first, and the guy of lawlessness is printed, the son of destruction, ... merely as interior the days of Noah purely those honest to His commandments would be left in the back of to head into into His Kingdom while it returns. The others who did not have confidence and have been untrue have been raptured away. Mat 24:37 "For the arriving of the Son of guy would be merely like the days of Noah. Mat 24:38 "For as in those days that have been in the previous the flood they have been eating and eating, they have been marrying and giving in marriage, until eventually the day that Noah entered the ark, Mat 24:39 and that they did not understand until eventually the flood got here and took all of them away; so shall the arriving of the Son of guy be.

2Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.
Revelation 3:3 Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
We can only speculate when he is coming. As the scripture says, he will come like a thief in the night.

The answer is simple: Remember the 10 virgins, 5 were foolish and ran out of oil, and 5 were wise and had their vessels full.
Be ready and stay ready for Jesus return at any time, then you Will not be left out. Right now is the age of the gentiles, at some point that age will be over and God will return His attention back to the nation of Israel to restore them, be ready when that happens, because when the ages of the gentiles is over , only the Jews will be able to receive Jesus.

I don't think God will reveal the even the year to us. Though I do have a coworker who is just positive that the rapture will happen before she dies...
I do believe that we are in the end times, but it could last for a hundred years...

Read 2Thesalonians. The Rapture has to happen, & Gods anointed in the ark of safety before the antichrist can have world domination.
Also, before the end, the Word of God must be published & preached in all nations & then the end shall come. This actually means that Christians will be strong in faith before the rapture. And their anointing oil lamps full in preparation. That is actually happening right now, to a degree, and will increase. & God is pouring out His Spirit on all nations & peoples.

No, God wont tell you the year, but we know by the signs of the times its very close. It may be today and it may be 20 years from now. The gospel is supposed to be preached in all the world before Jesus catches us away.

I believe it is impossible for anyone to know when the world will end. He said even Jesus or the angels don't know when it will be. When the last seal is opened, God will send Jesus to go get His saved children and we will be raptured...
I would love to join your group.....

I have wondered the same about the end of the world too. My question is if or when it does happen what about all good living things. Why would he create to destroy. This is all new to me,but I have been exploring my faith and spirituallity.
