It's like making brownies and putting a teaspoon of dog dung in it.....it isn't pure brownies. It has bad stuff in it. If you can swallow the bad with the good you should stay in your faith.
But if the thought of ingesting just the slightest bit of manure turns your stomach you should turn away from the whole thing.

You may know of people in your church that are running around on their spouse and the elders know it...and they allow it hating the sin instead of the sinner..is that keeping the congregation pure? Is that protecting the other sheep of Jesus flock?

You have to find a place where the truth about God is taught.
You have to insist on a good environment when you worship.

If a little bit of wrongdoing ( leaven) is allowed and not punished it could ferment the whole lump. The whole church would feel they could get away with it.

God says to everyone knocking and searching it will be opened and found.....find the true religion that is approved by God.

Faith is not particular. Faith is absolute. Religion is particular. The way in which a particular religion practices thier faith and beliefs varies wildly in cases. In most cases you need to turn to the Bible and study to find out what God told us and then follow that above all else. Then find the religion that most closely falls in line with those things that God has told us. Just because you do not like everything a particular church does as long as it is not against God I think it is ok to stay.

I have a religious christian past and still have roots in it but do not believe the mythological ideas because I prefer to take a literal approach to philosophy and theory, which one cannot do with things like virgin birth stories and the like, so no, I do not believe everything taught in the religious context of my faith. I like Buddhism and Taoism a little better and incorporate many of their stuff into my spirituality but still emphasize the Kingdom of God message of the Sermon on the Mount and the God of Love Jesus of Nazareth believed in more than any other religious ideas and concepts.

I believe the Word of God is in the Holy Bible & not other books that contradict the Holy Bible & Gospel of Christ.

Also, the anointing I received, I believe above what others tell me. The Spirit of Truth leads into all truth and isn't a liar, 1Jn2:27. This anointing is a teacher above my teachers. And the anointing confirms & reveals truth to me.

Sometimes tradition transcends reason, and practices that relate to a religion become activities of respect and tolerance to your for-bearers.
