And thus stop funding the things you say don't violate church and state, like government chaplains.

You say we aren't forced to participate, so let's see what you do when we stop

you are such a sad little boy(?) so full of the devil....you can pay taxes or you can do time.....you have a CHOICE. Or, you can always move out of this country.....hey little boy, you have some grown up choices to make......also, maybe see a pro for some anger/hate management, you are also a child of God, and He loves you just as much as He loves anyone.

Christians are very forgiving, but I think you'll find the IRS less so. Christians don't run the government, people who happen to be Christians are often government officials. If you want to change policy, you need to be an agent of change and run for office. The only thing you'll succeed in doing by not paying taxes is have the IRS after you, and THAT is never a fun thing to go through.

Many Blessings,

You are also funding state (government) supported murder. If you stop funding that, I will be most happy to forgive you for not paying your taxes. And how about all the funding that goes to people who spend their lives watching soap operas or spending their welfare checks in bars? What will those poor souls do when you stop funding them? My gosh, they might actually have to get out there and work like the rest of us.

We pay taxes too, and unfortunately we can not pick and chose those things that we want our money to fund.

C'mon, give it a rest. The government is forbidden from establishing a state religion. There is freedom of but not from religion. The rights of all must be considered. While the majority cannot impinge the rights of minorities (theoretically), these days we see organizations like thee ACLU seeking to impinge every right the majority wants in deference to the minority. We should remember that while we are supposed to be a melting pot, in that we take people from all over and embrace them and make them American, we are Americans with certain cultural traditions. I am not a christian, but I do embrace my cultural heritage. I do not find things like "In god we trust" offensive. To me that comes under the purview of our history. Many of the founding fathers were themselves deists or even atheists. So why don't we just get along.

It's easy to not have many sects (or even any sects) when you believe in nothing. Why would atheism have any sects at all? How many variations of "I believe in nothing" do you think there could be? By the way, the Wikipedia article you cite says that there are "reported to be" 38,000 Christian sects. But many of these are simply "sub-sects" of a larger denomination ... and many of them are identified as Christian when in fact they are not. It serves atheists' interests to list as many Christian sects as possible -- so that atheists can then use the large number as a tool with which to ridicule Christianity. They say that figures don't lie, but liars can figure. The second part of that saying seems to be well in play here. .

Politics and Christianity are not the same topic. I Hope that you can see that these are different and not even on the same plane of existance. What about the money that goes to fund Abortions that is against my beleifs. Or all the money that is lobbied for homosexuals to have gay rights parades at my expence?? I say that if the men and women who are sent to foreign lands to fight and die for us should have access to all the same services as you have here and YES THAT INCLUDES A PREACHER!! THEY DIE SO YOU CAN LIVE SO I HOPE YOU CAN FIND IT IN YOUR HEART TO ALLOW THEM SOME RIGHTS! YOU LEFT WING FACIOUS BIGOT

There are lots of ways to get out of paying taxes besides outright refusal...and a lot of atheists I know have figured that out.

I think it would be nice if churches paid taxes. When they do, then I'll think about it.

Render unto Caesar what is Caesar's. The church cares about what you give to the church. The government cares about your tax $$. If the government forgives you so will I.

Ummm...I think you're missing something, about the "separation of Church and state" thing...the Church isn't going to put you in prison for tax evasion.
But the state certainly will.
But, by golly, you stand up for what you don't believe in!!

Well, I don't really think we can get out of paying taxes.
But what if we stop the government subsidizing of religion. Why we let religious organizations somehow not pay taxes is beyond me.
