Married people that label 1-nighters as bad, because they are not doing it. And single people are thinking damn I hope my wife is cool enough for a threesome.

I agree with the point that there is always going to be someone frowning on something or other.. but I think the reason threesomes and groups are frowned upon moreso is because one of the commitment marriage is "supposed" to stand for.. and then also the extreme issue. Much like eating a hotdog isn't something spectacular.. but watching someone gorge themselves on 50 of them is a sport.. I mean come on.. LOL..

Yeah, I don't think it's universally accepted that threesomes and group sex are okay. Many people disapprove of that. In a way, it's worse than one night stands for singles, because you are betraying a commitment.

Eh, people are judgemental. It's always wrong until they do it themselves. Then, magically, they understand and think it's ok.
You're right, they are both casual sex, but one of them consists of doing it with your husband or wife. Does it make it any less casual? Not really, but sometimes a marriage needs something like that to survive.
edit: And how the hell do you expect to make threesomes illegal? If you don't like it, don't do it. It's like saying, "Driving vans should be illegal." It's personal choice... something you need to exercise yourself.
